They f'ed it up by changing the colors, ah well. Just like they changed 18 or krillin. Although 18 was for the best(anime style) and krillin could be debatable. I wonder if they do that to save money. Like maybe one way is more cost efficient.

It's all about the bottom line.

So I finally opened my SS3 Goku and first thing you notice straight away is just how heavy that hair really is. You would have no chance of getting him to stand properly without the included stand. That's another thing the stand it comes with is just the bare minimum pieces, not a full Tamashii Act 4 Stand. Luckily the hair on mine stays attached as I saw that could be a flaw though it does sag down instead of holding poses with the hair risen. Would I buy it from what I have just seen...Yes. The hair weight isn't an issue as long as you use the stand and with mine all the other joints are nice and firm.

Does it make him kinda stand out compared to the others? Also how is the figure sculpt in person? Just curious

The paint app looks really off because they didn't follow through and paint the joints too. As far as standing out I just pretend SS3 had a different aura hence the color change. The sculpt is just your typical Goku besides the wild SS3 hair. Once he is on the stand it is all good.

Sorry for all the questions but mine should arrive Friday and I'm a bit anxious considering some of the bad reviews with the paint and stuff.

Look at this post again... The prototype is fully painted...the actual figure has minimal paint and colored plastic. The gi has a bit of orange shading and obviously the blue parts/boots had to be painted but everything else is colored plastic, including the head parts but the skin is painted on those. What sucks is you can see a good peach skin tone right where the hair starts but the heavy orange shading throws everything off.

I can all but garauntee you that the SDCC display SS 3 Goku is the very same figure. He looks to be the production version with a few added paint apps, applied with an airbrush. I'd like to see a repaint of this guy at SDCC next year for sure!

Your pic shows a SS3 head on the first SS Goku release...the pic I found shows an anime accurate repaint (still strange colors but it is accurate)...and the final release was a figure that didn't deserve to be released. A big mess of slightly shaded colored plastic. It's still a good figure based on the sculpt/articulation alone but now I think it's the worst in the line.

Wasn't it brown that switched the ss3 goku head onto a regular ss goku body? I'd like to see that pic again if anyone has it as I'm not sure how he got the ss3 goku head off because it's not removable like all the others or atleast it's not meant to be removable anyway. I'm tempted to just try and repaint my ss3 one as the skin color is pretty bad or at least try the switch mentioned above

Not sure. I have one waiting to be repainted but I'm thinking about having someone else paint it. You can make it work by taking out the neck on the SS Goku figure to heat it up and then remove the ball disk peg that holds the head...then remove the neck piece from the SS3 Goku head (I don't think you can remove the peg from the head)...reheat the SS Goku neck piece and slide it around the SS3 Goku neck peg. It's not a perfect fit but it works.
