Here are 3 more pics of the original garage kit. These pics were saved from Yahoo Japan in August of 2003. These last pics of the unfinished model are the most astounding. Someone needs to completely finish the kit to make the coloring and paint job proper and the value would be well around $80. If this is an official kit, I need it. But I only want a finished model. I don't want any knockoffs or unfinished ones as a collector. I already have the Zarbon, Dodoria, and Frieza from that set. I need the Cui badly, it is one of the pieces I need. But I only want it if it is a finished model. Someone listed it for around $200 but that was way too high in my opinion. A single piece is not worth more than $100 as a model kit, unless it includes more than one piece in the set. I was able to buy the Zarbon, Dodoria, and Frieza model kit set for about $200 and that included all three of them in the set. That Cui piece is the one I need; and am willing to pay $100 for it.

I was able to find some of them for $80 to $100 and they were completed ones. I don't think Cui should be $200 even for a completed model though because some completed models of Goku versus Broly or Goku versus Frieza are available for around $100. No single piece is worth that high in my opinion. I was able to find the Zarbon, Dodoria, and Frieza completed set for $250 and that's for three pieces in the set as opposed to a single piece. That comes to around $80 a piece and that's worth it. But I don't see the logic of paying that price for a single piece. Some duo and trio pieces [Amond, Daiz, Caca] or [Bojack, Bujin, Bido, Zangya] are available for around $150 and that's lots of characters in each set. I feel that if someone charges over $100 for a single piece, it's a bit of a rip-off in terms of price value and what not. I would be willing to pay $100 for any of the pieces I mentioned above.

I payed $60 for a Disgaea Garage kit that contains two characters, if/when i finish it and it looks good I would never sell it under $200, not even if i was desperate for money or getting out of collecting. Regarding Cui specifically though, he is a very minor character so they likely didnt make more than 50 of the Garage kit of him because its unlikely that it would have sold well to anyone other than hardcore DBZ fans and people who favour more obscure characters the way i feel about values is that if i cant get what i want out of it then i give it to a friend who would get use out of it for free/gift

Considering that Zarbon and Dodoria make my top 2 favorites, I'm still willing to pay high for them. But I only compare to the prices of single pieces such as Recoome and Captain Ginyu, both of whom I've found on ebay for the approximate price of $60 each. That's a very good price in my opinion. I'm pretty sure there are much more than 50 pieces of each model in existence; the cast itself has the Banpresto club logo on the original packaging so the Cui should have around 300 or more of it in production, same as the Appule in the same set.

yes... yes those are 2 of the last Zarbon and Cui pieces i am missing. maybe someday you'll take pity on me and sell them to me. Unlike most DB fans, I am strictly a Zarbon, Dodoria, and Cui collector and those 3 have been my favorite anime characters for nearly 30 years now.

some other zarbon image I saved off yahoo japan long ago, I might have some old files on other hd
I have the Zarbon and Dodoria ones on the right half of your post. The first few look like custom pieces which is why I don't want them. I need the B-Club and official releases as well as the bootlegs but I don't want any custom pieces. I need all the help I can get in acquiring the last 7 pieces I need.

I feel that Cui is well worth around $100 but not too much more than that. Even the absolute most rare Dragon Ball pieces in existence [Yardrat Goku from early AB] and Oozaru Baby or convention pieces [Jakks Vegeta limited to 100] are not worth $200. I feel that the Dragon Ball expenditure ratio is approximately $100 for most basic pieces, but that's the maximum they go for. It's very rare to find a buyer willing to pay too much higher than that. In regards to the Ginyu Tokusentai pieces, I believe they are all the original ones and not recasts. I know of recasts too, which is why it's best to avoid them altogether from a collector's standpoint. I prefer original casts and molds in general. I don't think the Ginyu pieces are recasts, they do normally go for $60 to $80, but then again, they are more common than Cui.

I find buyers willing to pay alot of money for figures quite often so said buyers are not rare at all, there are even people on this site i know who are willing to pay the price... others who are not lol. it is diccifult to tell if a kit is a recast, the main give away is if it included the box/paperwork when you purchased it as well as if it was from china. 50% of the time, no box/paper = bootleg

I wouldn't pay $200 for Kuwi, but that's because I'm cheap and don't make that much income.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't build a Kuwi garage kit and paint it for only $200 either unless that was $200 just for painting the supplied garage kit that was already built. And considering how amazing the paint job is on the one juanpe owns... I'd say he got a good deal. The amount I'd charge for going through the process of building the kit from start to finish and painting it to the same level of amazing detail as the one juanpe owns would be about $400 including the amount spent on the garage kit assuming it could be found for $100.
That said, I'm not taking on commissions anymore. I still haven't had time to work on my own stuff much less the commissions I have in progress for Dark Gohan.

Before juanpe picked up the Cui and Appule, I was deliberating purchasing it, but $200 each was a bit high so I let them go. If he ever decides to get rid of the Cui and Zarbon, I would be willing to buy them, but my opinion remains that $200 is just way too high; I'm in congruence with Branjita's statement with income; I too can't afford to spend that much all at once. I was able to piece together all other items in my collection for less than that price [most items cost me anywhere from $20 to $150. It seems way to high for me to pay more than that for just one item no matter how much work went into it. I still believe I am more a hardcore fan of those three specific characters in anime history so time will tell how much I spend because I almost have a full collection of what is available. Additional note: I was able to find the Cui kit on numerous other japan auctions for around $50 to $60 unfinished, but I don't want it like that. I only want it in completed format.
