For all the hungry hearts out there... Apart from from not being a little more bulky in the muscle department even though he's done sit ups, push ups and had plenty of juice and not having a lighter shade of yellow in the hair, the figure looks very good. I hope they release a 100% ascended Trunks with that spiky hair to go along with this figure since they have already revealed the head piece in one of their display or was that by accident? It's confusing. Now over to what I always feel is missing in these new releases, the effect pieces. They should have at least included the earth destroying FINAL FLASH effect piece with this figure, especially since it was the very first time that Vegeta used it and in this form with that perfect blend of Bruce Faulconer music. If you just pose the figure in that position without the effect it looks like he's catching a ball. Since this figure will be released in October, I hope that we fans get a pleasant surprise with a Semi Perfect Cell Figuarts release for Christmas.

I kinda think of this vegeta as ascended ss. Where trunks was ultra ascended. And going back and watching it he was bulkier than before but not how trunks bulked up when he powered up. Looking at him and then looking at the prior ss vegeta it stands to reason it's actually a good representation.

This is the mold Vegeta needed. Previous ones always felt too small and awkward looking for the prince of all saiyans.

Looking at him and then looking at the prior ss vegeta it stands to reason it's actually a good representation. The forms are complicated. But you are correct, this Vegeta represents what you are calling Ascended Super Saiyan. Basically there's two bulky SS forms: Ascended Super Saiyan, or "Super Saiyan Grade II" and Ultra Super Saiyan, or "Super Saiyan Grade III" SS Grade II/Ascended SS is what Vegeta uses to demolish Semi Perfect Cell. He calls himself "Super Vegeta" when he uses it. It has increased muscle mass compared to normal SS. Trunks can also use SS Grade II, and we see him do this when he tries to block Cell from absorbing 18. SS Grade III/Ultra SS is the form that Trunks tries to use against Perfect Cell - the really, really, stupidly buff version. Video games often call this "Super Trunks". In that form the muscle mass is so increased that it slows the body down, essentially making the form useless. It is inferred from dialogue that Vegeta discovered this form, but realised the disadvantages and therefore didn't use it. Goku also accessed both of these forms in the Time Chamber, but decided not to use either of them. As I see it, this figure is intended by Tamashii to be Ascended SS/SS Grade II/"Super Vegeta". The increased muscles are some evidence, but the fact that all the promotional pictures show poses from Vegeta's fight with Semi-Perfect Cell gives it away. The Final Flash, pointing to himself with his thumb, these are poses always associated with Super Vegeta. Of course, if you think they haven't done a good job of making it look buff enough than that's totally fair. It's just that Tamashii have made this figure with Super Vegeta in mind.

Exactly. I think it's buff enough to differentiate from normal ss and ascended ss super vegeta. It's increased muscle mass from the original but not the ultra ascended that trunks took and vegeta knew was too overcompensating.

This is the mold Vegeta needed. Previous ones always felt too small and awkward looking for the prince of all saiyans. Umm... if you noticed, the original SS Vegeta figure/mold is quite accurate as its from the android saga. Then later on he gets buffer in the Cell saga. Vegeta was always quite small to the rest. So the previous one (I'm not counting the PC one) is correct. You might want to go back and rewatch the series or read the manga, because everything is quite accurate.

I'm not claiming the previous figures were inaccurate representations of Vegeta in any way. The previous Super Saiyan Vegeta releases just looked a bit too awkward and small to me for a Vegeta action figure despite the figures being into scale with their respective sagas in the dbz figuart line. That is just my opinion on the matter and your welcome to kindly disagree.

This Vegeta is perfection. Sure it's not the roided out Super Vegeta but this one's more versatile to pose so I'm loving it. The best representation of Vegeta in the Cell Saga imo and FINALLY we get accurate boot tips and a new hair sculpt. The faces are on point too

One question: does anyone think the thumb will fit on the new Trunks or the Vegito?

It's fairly likely, the wrist ball joints are often the same size. Although I can't say for myself the size of the new Trunk's hands.
