Largely dependent on what your displaying really.
Something like that would be great for a beam struggle kind of display. Especially if you can get some good lighting in there.

Make sure you use a 40% off coupon if you buy from Michael's. They will honor Jo Ann Fabrics coupons too.
I think since there's a bat in that case, it's probably only like... 4 inches tall or something... so I don't think it'll be great for figures.

I've never had the space for full detolfs, plus I regularly move my figures between rooms, so started getting these acrylic boxes last year.

For $120 you could get 2 Detolfs if that's something you like, so that case is pretty expensive. I might suggest you keep looking. Sometimes there are jewelry display cases and similar on Craigslist you can go buy from people for fairly cheap. I like my stuff to be either enclosed (hidden) or at least in an antique, so my figures don't take control of the room. I bought this 1940s Chinese cabinet off Craigslist for about $350 earlier this year and did some repainting and repair work on it to make it stable and look right. I also replaced a 1980s fluorescent light in it with an LED strip from Lowes. You can see my armoire (cabinet) next to it that holds most of the rest of my figures. I understand a lot of people like their stuff to be in detolfs, but it reminds me too much of being at an anime store for being at my home. Besides, having my figures hidden in my armoire makes opening the doors that much more satisfying to see all of them inside!

It's always interesting to see how everyone displays their collections at home. I absolutely love my Detolf shelfs. The problem with them though is how much space is in between each shelf. Going vertical in a detolf and making them look nice is a challenge. I've spent HOURS on my displays getting them how I like them and making them as Canon as possible to the show when possible. I've had several Dioramas created for me that fit detolfs perfectly and have another scheduled to be made in September. It's absolutely the best way I have found to truly display these figures but with the dios being around $150 - $200 each, it's not cheap. I hope I can share some high quality photos of my setup with you guys soon. I've taken notes of poses and things from several people here in the past.
