I don't know if those type of markers are a good solution at all, (I know permanent marker is the easiest way to permanently ruin a figure -- the black will turn purple and every color bleeds over time), but I definitely applaud an accurate Krillin!
I guess you'll have to be the guinea pig and let us know how this works long term!

happy to be a guinea pig , (so Bane be careful!)I know these pens do behave differently to standard markers though, but like I said I was just being lazy really!...

If you put your thumb on Krillin's eye, does it not transfer color to your thumb? I'd hate to see people potentially ruin their expensive figures, but I also don't want to badmouth your idea, because it's not something I can test. I just know that Sharpie, regular ink pens you write with, enamel paint pens (messy as hell and never dry on plastic), highlighters, and crayola markers are all inappropriate for figures. Somebody on old DBT used to customize with some things he called Gundam Markers, but I don't know if they are good or not. To me, nothing ink-based could be good, but that's just because I have made so many major mistakes trying to take shortcuts in the past.
From my experiences, Sharpies can be used on unpainted plastic to semi-permanently dye it, but it's only useful if you are making somebody like Captain Ginyu and you're using Goku arms with peach colored unpainted joints you want to at least tint purple. Sharpies don't work great because the ink will still transfer to your fingers and other figures. I sometimes use a "Uni Super Ink uni-ball" pen to fix the outlining on black hair and eyebrows on things I have painted, but it's risky as hell because the ink immediately smears when applying clear on top, and it also transfers to your fingers without the clear coat. Um... other than those things... I do use a BIC cheap pen to draw my designs and such on figures I am working on, but that isn't meant for staying on there. I just use it to help me when sanding so I don't sand a line off. Ex: Krillin in armor--I drew the line for the bottom of his black shorts, so I'd know where I was going to have it.

Oh I will be careful. I was going to look into it first, because like Branjita said, these are really expensive. I really can't afford paying more than I already am for these, which is why I haven't even bothered with even minor re-paints. Otherwise, I'd make all my Saiyans have bleach blond hair! That's one of the reasons why I haven't pre-ordered certain figures yet, because if I can save a even a dollar, that helps!
Thanks for the advice!

the ink is quite permanent in these markers... in fact you have to work fast because if the ink sets in you cant remove it with your finger ... you have a small window of time if you have applied too much to smudge it off before it sets... the way I did the closed mouth krillin was lots of dots as it seemed to be not setting on the paint, but on the gritted teeth krillin I just drew it on and it went on - I think at first I was being over cautious... these pens are not cheap and to be honest I wouldn't recommend them as such as I haven't got the experience too, its just I have them and I used them - however from the problems branjita has highlighted it sounds like they are the best markers that could be used on figures... im going to start my customising topic so i'll post a pic of vegetas head in there that I used a letraset marker on...(although I admit my pictures are a bit crap quality!!) @ dragonballfigures.boards.net/thread/1128/adz-custom-figure-stuff

Theres typically 4 pegs that hold the front chest on the SHF line. I remove the neck and apply enough pressure inside the collar for the chest to pop off. I believe glue is used on the pegs so you may need to use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the front up first. With older figures the glue may naturally loosen over time and you can pop out more easily like I did with an old kamen rider but with a piccolo I just had the pegs snapped off inside the sockets. Even when that happens it still hold into place pretty well but you can just dab some super glue on the lining for a better hold when reattaching the chest plate.

Not really sure if this is the thread for this. If its not mods please let me know. I have a quick question. What is the best way to fix a resin statue? If there is a crack or a small piece broke off. All help appreciated. Thank you.

Hey everyone. I'm an old member from back when the site was called Dragonballtoys. I doubt anyone will remember me, but I wanted a commission done that I was hoping someone could help me out with.
I wanted a Super Saiyan God Goku figures with a few different heads as to show his regular and powered up states like in the movie. I'd want the figure to be around the size (Or the actual figure itself with multiple heads) to be the Goku from the HG Gashapon series (http://imgur.com/pFlYuqI <--Here's a link for reference.) If anyone can help me with this, I'd be willing to talk price in PM or wherever is convenient. Have a good one!

Is there a market for customized statues? I typically tend to work with fully articulated figures the more articulation the better ex MARVEL over DCUC. But I've never tired to do any custom work on statue type figures...
