I know there's already a thread for super but I felt this deserved it's own thread. I just saw this early today and loved it!
How strong do you think broly is? I think he is at least on par with beerus. I think he will be a destroyer God at some point, I felt they kinda teased it with whis getting involved (but only to guage brolys power and determine if he would make a good destroyer).
Also do you prefer this version of broly or the original?

Movie was alright but I had a lot of issues with it, still enjoyable though!
I agree that he is better character wise but the old broly is the still the true broly in my mind. What were your issues? I didn't like the change in goku's age when going to earth and bardock's backstory but it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would and they still made bardock get blasted so the possibility of him going back in time is still there.
I liked the new movie, it was very enjoyable I agree on that. Broly had some better character development too. But I'm going with the original Broly, he really was a sinister maniacal killing machine and I loved it.
I wish they made a mention of the previous (old) retellings of the story of Bardock and Goku as being inaccurate retellings or something like that. You know, history that wasn't retold properly, like so much of history (that isn't written) is.
I also wish Broly had some sort of agitation with Goku because of him crying. Just some kind of connection...
Overall I rate it 97/100. It lost some points because of ^^ and also some of the animation was really ugly or really weird. Goku holding up 3 fingers was terrible and the scene where Goku is doing his silly warmup is drawn as a sketch and then he did these dumb dodge things where he reminded me of when in Super Mario World you'd be flying with the cape and you'd have to pull up to raise yourself and keep aloft. I didn't like that was wasn't even Super Saiyan when doing that. It bothered me because Vegeta was SSG at the time I think, and here's Goku in his regular form doing just fine.
Overall, I really enjoyed the whole thing a LOT. I also appreciated that they basically implied Broly was autistic, as he seemed autistic in all of the older Broly movies as well.

I'm of the opposite end of things: the Goku crying thing was dumb and it being finally excized from Broly's backstory is a change for the better. It's enough for Goku to have conflict with Broly because he's super strong, you don't need to shoehorn some fake drama in there.
That said, I'm not sure I'm 100% fond of softer Broly. It's a change I think needed to happen to give him some depth, but at the same time... This is Dragonball, and it's hard to see him being a villain in future appearances, which is kind of a waste. Much as it might have undermined certain amazing scenes, I might have liked to see him still with Freeza in the end... Sympathetic, but still a clear threat. They could still go that route (they imply Freeza wants to use him later on) but we'll see.
