Disappointed with the lacking accessories (no smiling face or SS2 hair,) but it certainly beats the 2017 version.
Looks good otherwise.
Don't worry, the smiling face is sure to be a "bonus part" included with the yet-unannounced S.H.Figuarts SUPER SAIYAN SON GOKU-THE FIGHTER WHO WAS SURPASSED BY GOHAN figure.
This guys looks great, but I'm very curious to see how tall he'll be next to the others.

That Tournament of Power walk-up scene has me really wishing for a DB SUPER Tien.
And a Saiyan Saga/SUPER Krillin. Though I suppose they would need to be separate figures, since his gi is considerably lighter in SUPER than it was in early DBZ.

To cut this short, I'd just like to ask this: Who owns Jackie Chun? Why? Other than being posed with Goku, he has no place in anyone's collection. He has a big body, a big head, and if you don't pair him with Kid Goku, he has no "friend" to pose with. I would assume he was the worst selling figure (and subsequently the rarest?). Most of the characters they made in the DB line are like this. Other than Launch, who basically doesn't fit in very well at all (though I do appreciate that they made her), every single character links with Kid Goku and almost no one else. Dragon Ball was a happy, adventure anime, about the cast and their friendship. Sure, Goku was the star, and he was the one who fought a lot of villains, but it wasn't like DBZ, DBGT, or DBS, where the focus was on fighting and action. A DB display without Oolong, Puar, and Yamcha looks as awkward as a Power Rangers display that only has the red ranger, green ranger, and 5 villains. You have to have the blue, yellow, pink, and black ranger. That supporting cast is important. I agree with all your points regarding the order in which they should've released the characters. If the line is truly dead and I never get Pilaf, Shuu, and Mai, that's gonna bug me for the rest of my life. Regarding scale, I agree with your assessment, though I admit I'm one of those for whom scale isn't a huge deal as long as it's "close enough". I have kid Goku, Roshi, Bulma ("Journey Begins"), and Lunch all standing together in my display, and while I would prefer a more unified scale, ultimately they look fine to me.
More importantly, I do have Jackie Chun! I couldn't not get him for a number of reasons: first and foremost, I love classic DRAGON BALL. It's my favorite part of the entire saga, and there was no way I wasn't going to get every figure they made from the series. So there was really never a doubt I would get Jackie, and I really like him. He has amusing faceplates, and I also like having the option to swap heads and put Roshi in his black clothes.
Currently Jackie is posed with Kid Krillin in my display to recreate their battle at the 21st tournament, though at one time I had him with the microphone and peace sign hand and goofy face, and at another point he was posed with the Roshi head and rice cooker, battling King Piccolo.

Broly - Super Hero survey Android 20 is no longer there, so the interest on these characters is very present, hopefully we will see some of them in SDCC Good to see that classic characters are still on the table, since it's been a while from the last release we got. Some good options for GT as well, but mostly are Z characters. I'd love to have an Oozaru Goku. I would vote for all of the first twelve on that list a thousand times each if I could. (I would not buy a thousand of each figure; I'd just rig the vote to ensure I can buy one of each!)
Odd that "Yamcha - Z Warrior" is on the list when he's already up for pre-order...

I still need a 23rd Tournament/Raditz battle Goku -- i.e. bare feet, no wristbands or weighted shirt.

Hello everyone,I basically collect DB Classic line. I have 3 Gokus kid, 3 bulmas, Mutenroshi, Jackie Chun, Piccolo Daimao,Tao Pai Pai, Krillin, Sheng Long and Lunch. I know that there is the motorcycle, but I don't want and that Lunch was the last release. Is there any news , pictures or speculation about a next release or this line is dead? Thanks The OGDB line is probably dead. There hasn't been anything on it (to the best of my knowledge) since Lunch was released, so I'd wager it's done. Hopefully I'm wrong here, but I haven't heard much on it. That's so frustrating. The classic DB figures are some of my favorites, and I was really hoping to see that line continue. I knew it would never be as successful as the DBZ and Super stuff, but I figured it would have some legs, at least.
I want my Figuarts Tournament Announcer, darn it! (Among many others).

I enjoy the simplicity too, but for me it’s just a bit too much surface-level. They expand the lore only the minimal amount & never go further. I don’t need every little thing explained, but learning of Frieza’s lineage has been a mystery forever. I was happy when they said in the movie Prince Vegeta was the 4th in his royal family, showing that they have been in power for a long time Little stuff like that shows that they put some thought into the backstory, and I appreciate that. Most of the characters/villains are very one-dimensional when there’s so much room for improvement. Just give us some more meat on the bones without retconning anything that’s been established (I HATED how they made Bardock “not such a bad guy” when originally he was a typical medium-high class Saiyan that didn’t care for his son(s), only angered when his teammates were slaughtered. For lack of better words, with the exception of a handful, the Saiyans were dicks. And that’s how I liked it. I find that Dragon Balls nuance is in it's long term characterization and relationships. I watched the Toriyama movies recently and it's moments like Bulma picking on Krillin, Gohan learning Videls pregnant, Piccolo training Pan, and Goku razzing Bulma that give Dragon Ball its heart.
I totally agree with this. I always liked DBZ, but when I watched the original DB, it won me over as my favorite iteration because it had a lot more of that stuff (plus the power levels were much, much lower and believable, which helped too). One of the reasons I really enjoyed Super was that it had a ton of those sorts of character moments, plus several goofy comedy episodes with a bit of an original DB feel, in between the major story arcs.

zarbon Krillin was pretty bad (for a list of reasons longer than the Amazon River,) but I have to disagree with you on Kefla's head. It was pretty big compared to the what Tamashii likely used as reference when making her. I don't own Kefla (holding out hope for Caulifla and Kale as separate figures instead), but looking at those pictures, I feel like the problem is not necessarily that her head is too big, but that her body is too small. The image on the left is bulky and muscular, the one on the right appears much slimmer. And the neck is a big part of it, too. The right pic has a thick neck, nearly as wide as her head, while the left has a very slender neck in line with most female DB characters. That alone can make her look like a bobblehead!

Yeah, I pose a new figure for like 2 minutes, put it into one of my detolfs and forget about it. This is what I've always done. I'll play with them for a few minutes when I open them, then I put them into a very specific pose and stick them in the display case, where they remain for very, very long stretches. I have all my Masterpiece Transformers next to the DB Figuarts, and it's the same with them. Open them, transform once or twice, then find a pose I like and set them up that way forever.
Though with the TFs, I do take them out and monkey with them once in a blue moon. The Figuarts pretty much stay static forever -- with the only exception being if I get a new figure that I want to be interacting with one of my older ones. Then I'll find a new pose for the old one to set it up with the new one.

All over 19 and 20. The Androids/First Form Cell segment is my favorite part of all DBZ.

If the Dragonball line returns, I’d like to see a 23rd world tournament Goku with the darker colours. Ideally it could do both looks, weighted clothing on and off.
I'd happily buy both!

I understand this particular figure is based on the new movie, so its symbols make sense in that context -- but can we PLEASE get a base Goku with something other than the Namek/Super-era "Go" kanji? Ideally, I want one with front and back turtle symbols, but I'd take one with turtle/King Kai symbols on front and back, too.

They say “detachable eyeglasses” like that’s a good thing 😅 I wonder how many collectors that are over 6’ with giant bearclaw hands have broken or lost Vegeta or Bardock’s scouters due to them being detachable. Mines permanently stays in the storage bin because they’re so tiny & fragile My Roshi's glasses snapped in half at the bridge. I think I was slightly bending them (so slightly that I didn't even realize) whenever I took them off. I had to glue them back together. They look okay at a glance, but if you pay much attention, it's obvious they were broken and repaired.
