I feel like I'm the only person who prefers the full brown-through-gold shading on the SS hair. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate a job well done though. Nice work Adz.

Thanks Wave ah don't get me wrong I do like the yellow hair as to me that's the standard stereotypical saiyan look, but it hasn't been done yet on a figuatrts properly - they attempted it on SDCC Goku but its not perfect.. and the platinum hadn't been done at all which is why I wanted to do it...now ive done the platinum I am tempted to try and do a more accurate saiyan shaded yellow but im just scared as I only have so many Goku hair pieces to play with!!!

a bit back in the customising questions I was asking about removing the eyes and highlights from some of the SHF faces... well I didn't go with sanding I went with scraping!!! I got a new blade for my scalpel and just marked off where I wanted and scratched away VERY lightly and it seemed to work a treat!! I am currently working on a SHF Yamcha from a normal Goku and hence I wanted to correct the eyes as that seems to be a problem in Yamcha retaining the look of Goku... Gokus eyes are rounded and Yamchas are straight lines... so from this... Attachment Deleted to this Attachment DeletedI just used the scalpel to scrape a permanent fine liner for the yes and sparayed matt varnish over the face to (hopefully) fix it I don't think you'll ever get away form them looking similar as they are basically the same face!! but I think the eyes do make a bit of a difference

Amazing job dude, that really gives him individuality. I feel like that would improve his look displayed next to the original Normal Goku a lot.

I would show a comparison pic but im stuck on these customs - quite frankly im sick of doing them at the moment, its taken too long... at the moment im deliberating whether to go back to sculpting on the yamcha... I was all set to paint but then had lots of problems - these are my first figuarts customs , heck first proper figure customs and its a learning process i'm also stuck on the colour - I want to paint Goku Yamcha and possibly Krillin all the same orange and its annoying me trying to figure the exact anime shade!!!!!!! rant over.

Did you see the super glue method I explain and show in pictures in the How to get started Customizing topic? I believe I showed it using my Nappa's arms. It works to prevent paint loss at joints. I do it on all Jakks necks as well so the heads don't remove paint from the necks. Little bit of glue, spread with a toothpick, paint, then a little more glue, and spread with a toothpick again. After it is completely dry for half a day, I cover it with my usual clear and it gets rid of how glossy the super glue makes it. My clear will wear off, but not too bad.
If a joint is particularly tight, you will of course have to either dremel it thinner or loosen it by cutting some of it off and stabbing the interior of it like I show in that topic.

Thanks Branjita, yeah I took another look at that topic (it looks even beter with the newer pics you added) and even though figuarts isn't addressed the method you mentioned above should apply in some way.. its just figuring out what to do to what....and experimenting with the exact materials I have ive already had to get rid of paint and dremmel away some stuff - its real disheartening to start getting rid of paint and putty after you've spent so long on it already... thing is I want to do it right though cause if I don't and I move the figure and it just F's it up in the future im gonna be pissed! also I realised that even though im happy with my sculpting I haven't finshed it off well on the back!!! oh man... I might get them finished by Christmas!!

Yeah, it's super frustrating. I usually try to skip doing the method with super glue and I always fail, fail, fail. Don't forget to use super glue on the joint before painting. For whatever reason it's basically required. If you skip that step and just do paint with super glue on top, the joint will scrape your paint off in a strip, leaving you with a ribbon of painted frustration hanging off where paint once looked so pretty.

Hot damn. So far, that Yamcha head is shaping up to be possible THE BEST Cell Saga Yamcha hair sculpt I've ever seen. It looks perfect from all angles! You just need to work on the forehead/hairline. But the shape is perfect. Great work on the SS Goku head, too! I love that you've managed to incorporate both the normal and SS form faces! And good god, that bleach blond hair looks glorious on the SDCC torso!
And. Those. Capes. I don't even understand how you made them look so good. Gohan's looks great swaying in the wind. But Piccolo's look freaking incredible.

I had wondered about the hairline of Yamacha but I don't know how to improve it ... in the first place I didn't want to just leave it and have him with a high hairline so I gave him some hair on the face plate, but I wasn't sure if what I had done was totally correct.. any suggestions to how I could improve it??
