I just wanted to post the first few pages from my One Piece script for you guys to see and give me your feedback on. I'm only posting the first five pages so it wont be a very long read. I'd actually like to read more, it intrigued me.
Welp, time to get into One Piece. Also, forgive me if I'm wrong but that's your version of his origin story right? I haven't read One Piece in ages and just barely anything, but he originally gets the Straw Hat from the guy who saved him.
But all in all, great job and would love to see more!

Thanks for the nice feedback. Yeah I did change the origin story to my own version. I was actually ready to get burned at the stake for that part. I'll try to get more up soon but right now it's a little hard deciding how to bring the others into the story. |

Yes. My dream job is to be a writer or an actor one day and make the first GOOD live action american anime movie. One Piece is such a huge story I have to mash some of the back stories together for time. Even with the things I plan to cut it's still gonna be a at least a 140-160 page script.

No I understand man it's not stupid. Well the average action movie is about 100-120 pages and every page is just about equal to one minute of screen time. Yes. This movie would be Chris Nolan levels of length.

I don't even know who Chris Nolan is... but yeah lol. A 20-40 page difference eh? As long as its good and keeps the audience entertained does it really matter?

Chris Nolan's the guy who directed The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Memento. His movies are usually really long.

I'd have to honestly say I cringed reading this... This is actually the kind of thing I'd expect from a horrible adaptation. If your goal is to create a decent anime film adaptation one day in life, then you're already going in the wrong direction. You're straying way off from the original...

Phew! Finally some criticism. Well this is only a first draft and I wanted to try something new. Like I said before I really only changed things due to time constraints, and more than likely I wouldn't cover the Smoker character in the series I kind of have planned but nothing is set in stone.

I should also mention that once the story gets to Arlong and Nami's story it pretty much will do nothing but copy from the show/manga.
