I'm uh, pretty damn broke right now to be blunt but I have every intention on buying the Bleach Renji statue from Tsume that's coming out soon. Normally I'd never consider spending so much on a single figure but it's stunning, huge, and, well, it's Renji <3.
If Tsume make DB statues as badass and unique as Renji then I will buy them. It's going to take more than a Kamehameha Goku though (okay, unless it's ridiculously gorgeous...).

You're right, most people wouldn't find paying that much for a figure a very sane choice, that's probably why these companies limit their production to 500 pieces or such. In my opinion resin does give figures a raw like look, but judging by how fragile it is, let alone the price difference, I'd take PVC over resin any day. To be honest, they limit production due to copyright. Unofficial Resins can be considered "copyright infringement" because the folks who make them are making money off of a copyright, which they did not have permission to do. In the copyright holder's eyes, it's the same thing as piracy or making bootlegs. This is the reason why they do limited releases. Limited releases occur so they don't get slapped with a lawsuit by copyright holders, claiming copyright infringement. So they jack up the price, pumping people up for "limited release" when it's just... "I'm saving my own hoo-ha from being charged with copyright infringement." However, that aside, I agree with your point for the most part, but I notice that you can't get the same detail with resin that you can with PVC, this is only one of the reasons why I prefer PVC over resin. Obviously price and the fragility are the other two reasons.

I was excited when I heard about this. I own a couple of Tsume's "lower-end" (about $60 each) Naruto figures and I love them. Naruto especially came out super accurate...so I think I'd probably be tempted by anything they come out with, really. C'moooon Gohan

So, here again a first part of this resin statue. I think it's the base. I'm curious what they do for a figure/character. I tap once on Goku! As of September 12, we know more. Perhaps earlier. Since the Tsume Fan Days will be in Luxembourg / Europe! www.tsume-art.com/en/tfd3.php

Would you like to have photos of the statues presented TFD3 ? I could only broadcast the same day during the presentation .

In a month, we know what Tsume for a figure has made. I'm curious! If there is something great as the Goku from Medicos, then I'll order it, if it is not sold out previously!

From what i understand the first dbz statue will only be an exclusive and only available for people that go to their event... thats a crappy move. Why would you make your first piece almost impossible for the fans to get. Also they have the licences for dbz. Thats why they just started making it. If they didnt they wouldve made it years a go. If it wasnt licensed the pieces would cost around 250 to 300 like vkh.

One can still hope that someone then later sold the statue on eBay or elsewhere. They are available in 400 exemplare. But will then have to be expensive. We will see!

You can definitely expect this to be double the price if you buy it online. Expect around 1k since its limited to 400 and the first dbz statue so its value is going to be ridiculous.
