Hey guys this is my first post and I have little story to tell. So a couple weeks ago I was just browsing on eBay looking for some dbz figures from when I was younger. I really didn't know anything about them.
So I did a general search and I started to find the ones I use to have. To my amazement the Irwin figures I bought ~15 years ago were still available brand new for nearly the same price I bought them back then. So I wondered why they are so cheap. Later that day I searched on Google "best dragonball toys/figures" and results pointed me to the hybrid super poseables form 2006-07. At this point, I still had no clue that the figuarts line existed. Luckily I started watching some videos on the hybrids on YouTube when I noticed a review for a "goku figuarts" so out of curiosity I clicked to watch. Right after the video ended, back to eBay it was, only for a huge disappointment. Prices were through the roof!!
So the next few days I did some homework on dbz figuarts and figuarts in general. My research left me pretty bummed out and excited at the same time. As I gradually found more and more information and studied the market, I slowly became more comfortable with the idea of starting a dbz figuarts collection. I started by purchasing recent releases that can be obtained easily and cheap. First order was sdcc piccolo and krillin. I bought both brand new for $100 shipped. Then I didn't want to wait another minute before I got my hands on cell and frieza. So they were next on the list. I ended up purchasing frieza from toywiz.com and found cell and android 18 on kinganime for a reasonable price. It's funny a day or two after I purchased cell and 18, their prices went up on the site.
Knowing goku was flooded on the market, I found an eBay seller that sold a 5 piece lot for cheap. 3 super saiyans and 2 normals for ~150 shipped was not too bad. Till yesterday afternoon, I had only received piccolo, krillin, cell, and android 18. I'm am still waiting on my other orders which are all scheduled to arrive today. So being that I have known about figuarts for less than 2 weeks I thought I was doing well, but still did not feel like posting anything on the forums til I had a few more in my collection.
little did I know, that the biggest and most surprising thing would happen. I mean the timing of all these events leading up to yesterday was just a miracle. Knowing that I'm going to do this all out and create a massive collection one day, i knew I must find all the releases I missed sooner or later. So for no apparent reason and completely by luck I stumbled across a listing on my local craigslist that put me in a much better position than I was the day before. I found the " ultimate catch of the day" right here in my backyard. The listing was a 10 figure lot.
What was in the lot you may ask? Well I'll just show you rather than tell.
