Hey guys,
I do bicycle messenger work for one of my two jobs and its a lot of fun! I love it, actually. I always follow the rules and laws, to stay safe and to protect myself legally. I'm very fast and good at what I do. However today I was hit by a car and it really sucked. My bicycle is ruined and my body hurts in ways I've never experienced. Just a heads up and warning to car owners; please drive safe. The guy who hit me has no insurance, license and also ran a red light. This kind of stuff is so easy to avoid. Be careful out there. I'm lucky to be alive!

First, glad you're okay. Second, I now want to call you Wiley. By chance was it Michael Shannon who hit you?
Ps, if you haven't seen Premium Rush, disregard the last two parts of this post.

Wow, I hope you're okay. Florida is full of awful drivers. You aren't kidding! I love Florida, but some of the worst driving ever is done here. I'm doing okay, but a few hours after the accident my injuries are becoming more profound. More so than I ever expected them to.

Damn, bro you got lucky! People in my city in Texas drive like lunatics. I hate when I see someone driving like a jackass - I pride myself on driving safley. I have a newborn baby riding with me most of the time anyway.
Glad to hear you are safe! Drivers should be more cautious of bicycles and motorcycles.

Hahaha, yeah I think every bicycle messenger has seen Premium Rush, just because. But yeah, it was a little like how the movie made it out to be, but I'm less good looking than Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a better cyclist.

Good to hear you're okay man, I was once almost hit by a car as a kid but a lady in front of me did, it was pretty shocking. If your body is hurting more I would take it easy for a few days and rest your body.

Your lucky you are living! Really that's the nature of the beast.
I was driving an hour ago and the woman in front of me veared in the other lane. Go figure the only other car on the rode about got demolished. (in front right) I wouldn't see that person having insurance with a beater of a car and pulling into section 8 housing. (educated guess) Go figure the car that about got hit was brand new. I did my part, cops called. Heck I saw them after that driving in 2 lanes at once texting! They found drugs and they were drunk. Ignorant people!
Even little things like a turn signal can save a life. Is the company going to help you out?

Glad you are OK, MajinRob. Wish you a fast recover!! I have been driving in the autoschool for a month already and I knew it but many times in the road it's just like a jungle. Some people gets out the worst of themselves inside of their vehicle.

I actually am suing. Got an attorney and things are going smoothly, but it's early on in the process. If everything goes well I should end up with lost wages paid, medical bills paid and my bicycle replaced.

Make sure they garnish the person's wages. That means when they get a check for working the money is taken directly out of all the checks. They would also be on probation. So if they don't follow up, go to probation officer, and there's potential of going to prison, for not following through. People like that tend to have no money on hand. This is probably the avenue the court will go for.
