Hey guys been a DB fan for 12-15 years now. I use to collect action figures when I was like 12-15, I eventually traded them all for hockey cards or something stupid when I was young. I recently went to this Asian mall and there was this store with all kinds of dragonball/pokemon/digimon.. iron man figures and I was just like a kid in a candy store. Got me thinking I want to start collecting db figures. They were so expensive tho a SS4 vegeta that I wanted was like 72 bucks + tax I was about to buy it but thought id go home do a lil research and head back next week (2days from today). Man I had no idea this was so big seen some krazy rare ones on the internet on ebay selling for 1000-2000$ USD. I was hoping someone here could help me out I want to start collecting I have no idea what to look for what brand etc.... Im looking for advice/tips/tricks, websites that sell them, a list of rares/commons any info you guys can throw at me would be much appreciated.

Welcome. There's a really good section of this forum you could browse through called Checklists and Pictorial Collection Guides if you want to see lots of different brands and types of figures to see what you like. I personally prefer the SH Figuarts DBZ line, but the prices can be a bit of a barrier to entry sometimes.

Wow American toys look like crap compared to the Japanese ones. Im not sure where to start Figuarts by far look amazing and I like how they can be customized... Is there a list somewhere of say the top 100 rarest figures? Also is there a good website to buy figures from?

Welcome! I recommend SH Figuarts and Figuarts Zero.
I usually get my figures from EKnight Media.com, and Amazon.

Roshisuprise thank you so much so No sticker on the box no buy got it! I think i like the statues 12-15cm and 16-25 cm. I want to take these out of the box and display them is it a good idea to keep the boxes? I also want to collect the rare pieces that are limited and keep them in the boxes as collector pieces I was told all those rare ones are now being re created as fakes is there a comparison guide?. Also so the sticker will and must always look like that example Roshi?

Well if your'e looking to sell your figures in the future for a profit, s.h figuarts (the articulated) is your best and most profitable option.Otherwise, I would say there is no definite say in which figure prices will rise and which won't. about the stickers, yes this same sticker shoul always exist as it represents the producer of dragon ball approval (toei animation) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toei_AnimationThe sticker is usually small like this: And about vegeta, all figuarts ZEROs come with similar looking bases like this image: The differences between the fakes and the originals are very hard to spot so your best way of knowing is the sticker

From my side also welcome. I personally collect the Scultures (formerly HQ DX), Ichiban Kuji (are just more expensive than the Scultures), Figuarts Zero (Small, but look great and expensive than the Scultures) and DXF (in about the same size as the S.H.Figuarts and Figuarts Zero, but cheaper.)! If you really want to buy a nice detailed figure, then I recommend you the Medicos Goku! it's just a bit more expensive.

Isnt there like literately "rare" dbz figures? Or like limited makes for example they only made 200 of these kind so it would be considered rare?
