One of my figures side is double taped. Just one side on one figure. It looks like the manufacturing tape. Is this common or has it been opened??

Definitely opened. I've never seen a double taped box when I pre-ordered a figure. People on Ebay normally do that so it appears to be brand new. Even if the figure is like new, and there's no problems, it's still annoying because it goes for a little or a lot more if it's listed as new, as opposed to being listed as used.
I've only had one problem with that. I bought SS Goku "new" (with the double taped box), and the arm kept falling off. Clearly not new.

Which Super Saiyan Goku? There have been multiple cases of the arm falling off of Manga Super Saiyan Goku.

That is really discouraging to hear. I am a collector of only new figures and do not open them, but the tape is identical to the tape underneath it and on the other side of the box. Are you absolutely positive that it can't be done in manufacturing? I had thought I read something a while back about somebody preordering and seeing the same thing and other people said it was probably done in manufacturing and still new. Just thought Id ask. Would hate to sell it and have to buy another :/ some of the others I need are to pricy for me to add another need. Its taking forever to get the whole line sense I started late. Also here are pics to see that the tape is the same also there is plastic under his middle flap as if it hasn't been removed.

Well I've seen some figures which both sides are double taped. However, I have never seen which only one side is double taped.

To answer this question based upon my own experience I believe it's a manufacturer result. I order a large quantity of SDCC Vegetas directly from Bluefin and most of them had double tape on one side or both. I'm not sure if this just happen specifically to these Vegetas, but I know no one opened them or maybe they go through expection twice?

Which Super Saiyan Goku? There have been multiple cases of the arm falling off of Manga Super Saiyan Goku. I'm not sure since he bought him on Ebay. Either the original release or the first reissue. But the guy listed it as new, taped it back up to make it appear new, and when I opened it, I couldn't move the arm without it completely falling off.

I actually had the same issue with sddc vegeta and ended up returning the figure. The seller was on amazon and showed me a picture of a number of vegetas he had in stock with the same double tape issue. Then I thought they had been opened previously but to see it from another seller makes me think that it was done by manufacturer. Keep in mind that my next vegeta that I ordered from another seller did not have the double tape....Both my vegetas were from large well known sellers on amazon aka ones that don't care to open there figures for fun so my guess is manufacturer.

I've seen this double tape issue even after I open the brown shipper boxes that have been seal with other figuarts.

Thanks guys makes me feel a lot better haha and thats something I wish they would change. Like a label to close the sides and not tape. Something that cannot be duplicated easily and definitely not tape that anybody can get at the store to cut down on ppl scamming others.
