i haven't been back. but thxs for the reminder. i have to delete my acct. I'm thinking of doing that too in a couple of weeks time when I'm sure I won't be getting any new messages in over there. |

I think I pm'd elot. I haven't heard anything from Mike. He and minigt are welcome to join this message board, I have nothing against them, I just didn't like their lack of leadership, the fact that mike would only respond to maybe one tenth of the PM's I would send him, and it really pissed me off that he ignored my several requests to make my how to get started customizing topic a sticky topic, especialy since I knew, and now know first-hand that it takes all of 3 seconds to make a topic a sticky. ok, maybe I have some resentment, but i'll get over it. all of those wasted hours writing him pm's, reporting trolling, designing stuff for the site he wouldn't use... the only thing I remember he did do for me was block the registration of the alternate spelling of my name so nobody could pretend to be me. a 20 second to 60 second process if you don't know where that is in the admin panel.

I don't think he cared much about the site to be honest. After he stopped posting dbz stuff he just went quiet and I guess he lost interest then. Minigt I guess has a busy life and didnt really care either. He'll probably shut down the site once he notices its a ghost town, unless he doesn't create about that either and abandons it completely.

Well, I would have preferred to fix the old forum rather than making a new one, but it doesn't really matter much. As long as we don't keep changing every year, I'd like this to be stable. Maybe elot thinks something similar, he just doesn't accept the change and feels the old forum more connected to the dragonballtoys.com website. Maybe.

Well, considering I joined the original DBT in 2001 when I was like 15 or 16, and it's 2013 now and I'm still a dbz fan, I'm not going anywhere so the site isn't going anywhere. I don't know if this is even something anybody can even answer, but who was Mike on old DBT? Because I don't remember him at all. Minigt I remember very well. And I would hope that Mike does not delete his dbt forum. There's years of history there, and I hate to see history become nothing.
Concerning the connection between Mike's DBT and the original DBT, it would depend on your perspective if there is even much connection at all. Mike, as far as i can assume, joined dbt probably when I was too busy working three internships and in college full time in 2005 or 2006 to do much in DBT. I also have a habit of alternating between car interests and dbz interests. Around 2007 or so, dbt was pretty boring, I don't think any dbz figures were sold in store s anymore in the US and there wasn't much to talk about. we had had issues with who ended up buying DBT. they were les responsive than Mike and they owned the entire website. something happened to the database and the work a lot of members were doing for free simply disappeared. Oldphan and gqkrillin were two of the members working their butts off. we also had huge numbers of spammers on the forum. and they were not just harmless spammers, there were bots posting porn all over the place. we blocked registration and that prevented bots but also new members. somebody messed up something in the forums and they got really buggy and before they became completely useless Mike made his dbt forum and Some of the members transferred over to it. eventually somebody deleted the database of posts and topics on old dbt as a way of screwing the owners of dbt but it actually screwed us because the content of DBT was possible to view using Google but after that everything just disappeared. anyway, that's howMike's DBT started

If he does delete it I hope that everything worth saving is transferred here first.
Also thank you bran for the extended history of the DBT forums. I found it very interesting. Also makes me wish I had jumped on the Dragon Ball train earlier than I did.

I'd say he doesn't even care enough to delete it. We've asked simple things to be done, like bran said take less than 10sec and he didnt do it. I don't think he will do anything, just abandon it and disappear.
