Hopefully people will get what the section is for now Here's another question if it's ok. Is the Member Collections section just for DB related stuff or someone's entire collection including non-DB related figures? If there's other collections integrated into their DBZ collection, it can pass, but if they only have non-DB stuff or only show a non-DB collection, then it should be forbidden.

Idk why it's a problem in showing off their other collections, doesn't that attract more attention? Which helps the site a bit more or something?

If I posted Bugatti Veyron pictures here in a topic, it'd attract some attention, but the wrong kind of attention.
If I made a Bugatti Veyron section on DBT and we had a 20 page long topic in there, or 20 topics, it would attract a LOT of the wrong attention. DBF would be showing up in search results for searches for that car and if the Bugatti section of our forum was the most popular part of the forum, that would do damage to both the search result ranking we want (dragonball figure and related ones) + new members looking at the forum would say to themselves "Well the American, Japanese, and Other International sections haven't even been posted in by anyone this month! They're all discussing cars!" and they'd leave. I've done that exact thing to several message boards.
Just for example, PGV has (or had) a message board for his Dragonball AF project. It has a custom figures section on it, but it never gets posted on, so I haven't looked at his forum in years. Jorrell has/had a forum too for custom figures, but it would go weeks/months without posts I cared about so I never look at it anymore.
We don't want to promote the forum in becoming off-topic and we want to promote it being 90% to 99% DB-related stuff, with interesting/active topics in every section.
We want DBF to be the first result when someone searches "Dragonball Figures" and eventually we'll get there, but not if 50% of our members are all distracted and posting about Spider-man figures or Super Smash Bros or whatever in sections devoted to non-DB figures and non-DB videogames. So while you guys can talk about that stuff and have fun in this section of the forum we're in right now, I don't want to encourage it by making specific sections that basically says "Ok, have fun, ignore the subject of this message board, post about all this other stuff, take time out of the admins/mods' time by making them have to manage those threads too, etc."
Just because a lot of collectors here also collect other things and play video games, doesn't mean it is in the best interest of the site as a whole to have that type of discussion on here. It's unproductive for making the site popular in the way it is supposed to be popular and in some ways it is counter-productive.

So just stick to showing DB related collections in the Member Collections section then?

Idk why it's a problem in showing off their other collections, doesn't that attract more attention? Which helps the site a bit more or something? Why is it so hard to accept that this is a DB figures forum only? IMO, there's nothing wrong with posting other collections if you're showing off your DB one as well, but if you're showing nothing DB related, it does nothing to promote our favorite series. It's not like DBF is the only online forum for collectibles.

Ehh... I just don't see the point of being so anal about it. I see where you're coming from though, yet it's not like that one batman thread is gonna make us the #1 in batman/Ben searches.

I have to spend two words on this. 1) I agree it makes no sense to open many sections. I had requests on my old forums to open even football sections, I found it totally inappropriate. 2) Anyway, you shall consider normal that any forum creates a community, composed of members with various interests, so don't be so strict. If one person shows his collection from his own room, its normal to have there also non-db items, while its positive for the users to share interests that go beyond dragonball to get more confindence with each other. 3) Don't look at the boards as an inanimated being, you have to look at the boards as an array of human beings with feelings and common will to join together an adventure, where together means knowing the others in everything, not just for what concerns db figures. So anything that groups people shall be welcome. Said that, I repeat there's no sense to add more non-db related sections, but please don't forget that discouraging people from posting else could only harm the boards. Indeed I intend in the future to open threads about my other collections, and many more threads that have nothing to do with db I find them the most entertaining part of the boards, while custom section is mainly for collecting new ideas, for what concerns me.
