Jakks (Giant Ape) took over the line after IF Labs had only released series 1 through 3. Irwin Toy's bankruptcy took down IF Labs as well. Jakks began at series 4.

Representatives for FUNimation confirmed today that the IF Labs Fusion Collection (Series 3) figures will indeed enjoy a mass release sometime in the near future.

The early narrow release and subsequent rarity of the figures is another result of the transition from Irwin to JAKKS; however, the figures will soon be found in mass-market outlets nationwide.

An ebay seller named lk-metier-enterprise has posted some excellent pictures and wrote a great description too. I'm partially sharing them below because they are so excellent.

Complete Dragonball Z Movie Collection Set. EPIC!!!!!!!

Consists of 19 Series, 66 total boxed, 69 figures in all.

Everything in the lot is new, ALL seals are intact and

not tampered with. All of these figures have multiple

seals, and none of them are peeling or cut! Everything

can be considered to be in excellent condition. Some

were briefly displayed but were for the most part all

kept stored properly in a safe environment. This lot

comes with all 19 series, all Limited Editions, all

Special Paint Variants and Rare 4 Pack, and last

but not least, BOTH Z Store Exclusive figures.

after is by Jaaks Pacific.

Thanks for the pic of the exclusive Spacesuit Goku. I took mine out of the package and recently wanted to put him back in but I couldn't remember if he came with a special base. Looks like from your pic it's just the regular gold and black base.

Here's a fun bit of history.

On December 1, 2002 IF Labs will hold an auction for a handmade, hand painted, paintmaster prototype of Super Saiyan 3 Goku from the Dragon Ball Z Series 3 “Fusion Collection” straight from the IF Labs laboratory. The auction will continue for 3 days through Tuesday December 3, 2002 from midnight to midnight.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the proceeds from the auction will go to various children's charities.

The auction will be hosted by eBay and open to Club Z members. To be eligible for the auction you must register by November 25, 2002. Club Z members will receive the detailed auction information via email several days before the auction.

I've seen someone talk about this before in the past few years, but I don't remember what they said. I wonder how much it sold for and who owns it?

Wow! The SS3 Goku prototype sold on ebay for $2075.00! Incredible. In case your image ever goes away, here's some of what that article says:

The money was donated to various children's charities. The winner was Jamal of Biloxi, MS. With his sister having a baby on the way, he felt it was a good time to donate to support the health and welfare of children, so that's why he bid so much.

Are lots of these figures exact re-releases, or do they have slight changes?
