SS Trunks (S.H. Figuarts)

Seller probably just isn't familiar with every brand. Too soon for knock offs.

Skin with red undertones.



Seems safe to say the new Vegeta will also have this skin (therefore making it inaccurate). I wonder why I'm the only one bothered by this. Was it really that difficult for them to use the same plastic they were using on the web exclusives to get something like this?

I have him in hand , his skin looks fine to me.

It isn't accurate to the character. It's true that there are many palette inconsistencies throughout all Dragon Ball media but the video games and Dragon Ball Super can provide a stable and consistent palette for all characters. Here are a few images that show where the skin tone should be for Trunks.




If that's not enough it's noted in the Daizenshuu that Saiyans have slightly yellow skin. This also applies to Goku and Vegeta.



For a while, the skin tones on every release were where they needed to be, right up until Warrior Awakening SS Goku came out which was the first to feature the inaccurate tanned peach skin that SS Trunks has.



The fact of the matter is the new skin tone Tamashii is using is only appropriate for one figure and that would be a Figuarts Super Saiyan God Goku.



I would have been beyond satisfied with this new Trunks (and the premium color Trunks...and the Warrior Awakening SS Goku) if they had been made with the same yellowish skin color other figures were made with and that didn't happen. I'm not saying the new regular release figures aren't great, they are, it's just that they could be better, more accurate, and consistent with the rest of the line and they aren't and I'm never going to be able to ignore that. I'm holding out hope that maybe future reissues will alter the skin slightly but I can't see that happening.

The lighting from super saiyan transformations seems to be irrelevant in Figuarts releases. Just look at the first Trunks, Vegetto, and SSGSS Goku. Both the normal and SS faces have the same skin tone.

I've read this Trunks has a larger neck peg than the other figures so it seems like head swapping may not be an option this time around and if this is the case I can't help but view that as another negative. I just don't see the point in ensuring people can't swap heads.
