If you want to a wait a full year to resale then go for it, but I wouldn't try scalp DBZ figuarts.

Is it weird that many here oppose the idea of scalping figures yet charge scalper prices when they decide to sell? This of course applies to those that purchased their figures on release.

If you guys are contradicting scalping, would someone sell me a super saiyan 3 goku for $53? Look the man wants to enjoy some figures while the mine is growing in value.

Let's just make hyperbolic statements with no grounds and see what happens guys right! The 'scalping' that most of the board is against here is when you purposefully buy X amount extra of a figure to sit on and hope for a good return on investment. A lot of people here selling decide to sell at market price to try and get help for whatever they want to replace that figure with, or otherwise need the money. MOST of the members at least are not buying up 20 of a figure to sit on for an investment. If you look at the growth in price of most DBZ Figuarts, you would be better off with an innumerable number of other ventures for your investments. In my opinion, coming into the line NOW, is a bad time to try and make some money sitting on collectible figures. The line is booming right now, so it's not exactly hard to find even some of the recent out of print figures like Android 17. In the coming year or two, maybe you double your money on a figure? But the line is moving away from web exclusive now, and doing PC versions of the older exclusives.

It bothers me that some on here sell their figures just as high or even higher than scalpers on ebay. I can get Trunks or Vegeta on Amazon for $170, yet I see people sell them on this site for more than $200.00. We, your fellow posters, cant even get a little discount? lol

I agree ^ . Also, why are you guys telling eddie not to buy extra figures to scalp? I mean, you guys post in every upcoming figure thread that you will get two of the same character so you can resell.

You're selling not only to a community of people that most of us interact with several times a month at the minimum, but not only that, you're already getting a 10% discount on the price regardless just by not having to pay eBay. I will always expect to pay about 10% OFF of eBay prices when buying anything on forums and such, which has gotten a few people upset with my offers, but I would at least expect eBay pricing with shipping included at the minimum. That however is really a discussion for another thread. I've already voiced my opinion, and I really don't think it would be a good investment. To answer this particular subject of the thread, no, I do not think it would be 'worth' it. On Axel's point, there are a few people that buy multiple specifically to resell, but the vast majority of us like to either customize, pose, or keep one MiB. The only figure I've bought 2 of happens to be Vegetto, however that was for me due to wanting to be able to pose a SSj and normal form at the same time. I have 0 desire to resell any of my figures.

I would say its a good investment, for it could look like you got your figures for free. If you get two, the second one might double in price and cover the first figure. Its kind of like a mine. You enjoy the figure while the value rises, you could look at it this way, you get extra money without working. I am not saying that investing on figures and reselling would be a good idea to do as a JOB. Its just extra money. eddieranger get em both before they release the buu's. I guarantee they will triple in price in just a matter of weeks.

Yeah, I can't understand this. Last Fall, when i sold my collection, I gave people some pretty dag on good deals on here, and now that I'm wanting to get some of them back, I was hoping I could find someone on here with the hook up, but it seems that this might be one of the worst places to get figuarts. Lol oh well. It's also a little annoying to see the same old thread that contains high prices in the buy/sell forum appear as new only because the thread is bumped... But I digress... But yeah to answer the thread question, I don't think it would be a good idea to buy those figures in bulk. They don't seem very popular... But you never know.... If you have the money then take a risk, I suppose; even though at worst, I'm sure you could just sell them for what you bought it for. So I guess you could go for it. I would buy Golden Frieza, SSGSS Goku, PC Vegeta and PC Trunks in bulk.

I thought PC Vegeta and PC Trunks are standard releases. Are they exclusives?

For these two figures in particular? I thought both of them were normal releases ? Thus subject to re releases. Like Teen Gohan and WA Goku.
