Dr. Brief and Panchy. Brief isn't their last name. It'd be like saying Mr. and Mrs. Brandon. =P

We're clearly told in the series that last names are very rare and hardly ever used unless you're from the sticks (like Son Gohan), and no one else in the history of the franchise on the Japanese side has ever been called with the Brief surname. No "Bluma Brief", "Trunks Brief" or even "Mrs. Brief", just Bluma, Trunks and Bluma's mom/Panchy. Brief is the good doctor's first name. |

Of course, but I'm not Japanese, so I don't follow with their language usage in the series. In the anime, their last name is Brief. I understand the anime isn't 100% original, but that doesn't deter the fact that Brief is still used as their last name. Therefore, to me, their last name is Brief.

It's not just a Japanese thing. The same holds true for the English subs on the DBZGT DVDs, I believe the issue has been corrected in the English dub of Kai and their is no reference made to it in the English translation of the manga either. The only English part of the franchise that says anything of the sort about it being their last name is the horribly inaccurate Z dub and DB Evolution, neither of which were done by people who had any idea of what they were doing with the franchise.

I realize it's not just a Japanese thing, but at the same time, it still is no matter how you want to portray it. It's like telling me that Kuririn is an alternate spelling for Krillin. I know it is, but I still call him Krillin. Neither are wrong. Brief or no Brief, there is no wrong. One has her name and one doesn't. Just because you think the funimation dub is horribly inaccurate, doesn't mean some of the additional names are deemed horribly wrong. Especially something as harmless as Bulma's last name. It's not like I'm telling you that Mai was King Piccolo's top crony.  |

It's almost like they were drawn separately and then arranged like that by the publisher... ;P I would like to think like that, but there is this big difference on the movie itself as well. Krillin on this movie look smaller than he used to be |

wow... the height difference between Android 18 and Krillin is enormous there.... Its almost like Akira Toriyama doesn't give a sh!* about keeping correct scale. Yeah, and apparently he remembered Pilaf being a Namekian. |

I'm not sure why you say that. 18 was always over 1 head taller than Krillin. Toriyama's drawing is a little stylized, but he isn't that far off. Maybe I should photoshop it to correct everyone...  This is at a perspective, so it isn't very good reference.   |

I'm working on the group pic... correcting the scale, but I just noticed something. Did anybody notice that Dende was not an adult in the movie? He was supposed to be a lot taller and wearing his Kami clothes.  |
