That SS4 Gogeta scales a lot better with Figuarts SSB Gogeta than I thought he would! The Dragon Stars figures have a heavy tendency to all be very similar in height, whether it's a small character like Frieza or a regular character like Gogeta. Their leg articulation is often a drawback. Their Janemba looks fantastic, but he really can't do many poses due to his legs being so lame. His arms are great. The sculpting of the characters can be hit or miss. unfortunately the clothing tends to be a miss on most figures. The majority of characters wearing pants look like their pants are inflatable.
I'm frankly surprised we haven't seen Omega Shenron yet. I would assume he's coming soon.

The dragon stars Gogeta is definitely a bit bulkier than his Figuarts counterpart but it’s significantly better scaled than I expected. His very low crotch is possibly the only real gripe I have with him. I just hope the character range continues to expand with Dragon Stars. Their range is good right now but it could be even better.

derelictbadger You should see how huge the Dragon Stars SSB Gogeta is compared to Figuarts SSB Gogeta. I wish I had a pic, but I didn't save the comparison pic I saw apparently. That's why I'm surprised the SS4 Gogeta is comparable to the Figuarts SSB one. The Dragon Stars SSB Gogeta is probably a head taller than Figuarts SSB Gogeta. This is completely off topic, but since I found it when I was looking... here's Figuarts Piccolo 1.0 with Dragon Stars Piccolo.

Looking at it, the Dragon Stars Frieza I have is far too tall for either set of figures. I kind of thought that was only because it was part of the 1st wave, but it appears that scale is consistent in its inconsistency. Piccolo looks decent for Figuarts though. The 1.0 Piccolo was a bit short. I personally own the figure-rise Piccolo which is perfect for size as far as I can tell.

Coming in September 2021... Dragon Ball Super Dragon Stars Battle Pack Future Trunks vs. Fusion Zamasu Action Figure 2-Pack! This is great! The Trunks comes with accessories the individual release did not come with: his spirit sword, a broken sword, and a stand for his foot. He also appears to be a paint variation of the original release and he has an open mouth unlike the first release. Merged Zamasu was previously only available as a Build a Figure. This version has a much different face, but otherwise looks like the BAF version. He might be painted in slighly different colors. Entertainment Earth currently has this available for pre-order.

Any idea why Dragon Stars has dried up? Used to be 3 figures per release, then there was suddenly 2 per release With Broly and Goku..then Just one With Master Roshi. Now a battle pack. Their consistency seems all over the place atm. 🤔

Their consistency seems all over the place atm. 🤔 I think the Broly/Goku wave had a 3rd figure as an online exclusive, but I can’t remember what it was. Regardless, my guess is covid has hit them hard. Their output over the last year has been way lower than before. I’m guessing this as well as the new evolve wave and the limit breaker wave is the beginning of them ramping everything up again.

solubletoast technically Wave 19 has SSB Goku, Broly, black haired Gogeta, and Master Roshi. I assume manufacturing delays due to the pandemic have been to blame for the strange delays and weird release dates of wave 19. Roshi isn't available for pre-order yet in the US, but he already released in Hong Kong a week or two ago. This new battle pack is actually really cool, because for just $42.99 (basically the retail price of two regular Dragon Stars figures most places) you can get a new version of Merged Zamasu and a SS Future Trunks with more accessories. The only way to get the BAF Broly rerelease was to get it from Bluefin last year if I remember right... or maybe it was P-Bandai... I confuse the two... I don't know if the Merged Zamasu/SS Future Trunks 2-pack will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive or not. It might be. It's difficult to know for sure these days... I'm still not sure where the wave 19 black haired Gogeta was supposed to be a "hobby exclusive". Comic book stores? I just know he's on Amazon. Dragon Stars Wave 17 is finally supposed to be making it to the US for a July 22, 2021 release (through Amazon at least). It was released in some other parts of the world (like the UK and Mexico) in December 2020 (or earlier). My guess is that the pandemic made distribution complicated. Entertainment Earth and Gamestop sometimes have Dragon Stars a few weeks before Amazon (Gamestop claims they'll have them August 5, 2021), but here are the links for pre-ordering Goku, Vegeta, and Gotenks through Amazon. www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Super-Goku-Version/dp/B085SNS7VJ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Super-Vegeta-Version/dp/B085SP949Y?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Super-Gotenks-Action/dp/B085SPFGMT?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1Wave 18 was SS Bardock, Janemba, SS Vegito, and technically the World Martial Arts Tournament playset is considered to be Wave 18 as well. The Attack Collection SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta are also up for order on Amazon. They are supposed to be available right now, so I am guessing the release date was June 1, 2021? Not sure. They are $16.99 each. They are a separate product line, but I don't know if it's worthwhile to make them their own thread on DBF or not... www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Super-Collection-37091/dp/B08VQRTDB4www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Super-Collection-37092/dp/B08VQRWMRTEdit/update: I think these Attack Collection figures are actually April 2021 releases.

There are some other upcoming Dragon Stars items too. The SS Goku Power-Up Pack and the SS Vegeta Power-Up Pack. They will be available in August 2021 according to Entertainment Earth. EE is selling them for $26.99 each. I think it would be nice if they sold a version of these for a much lower price without figures coming with them, but that's just my opinion. I'd buy an accessory pack I could use with the figures I already own. While a lot of annoying stuff does happen in the Dragon Stars line (reissue after reissue of very similar Saiyan figures and not enough new characters to make collectors happy), I think it's incredible that Bandai America is doing such a good job with the line. They're doing really well considering kids and teens these days aren't buying figures as much as kids and teens did back in the early 2000s. Looking back at how Irwin and Jakks handled the DBZ license in the early and mid 2000s... we did get a LOT of new characters from Irwin, but we also got a lot of gimmick figures that a lot of collectors (and kids) didn't really like very much. Most of the collectors (myself included) did not like many of the Striking Z Fighters or Energy Blaster figures. Most people hated the Secret Saiyan Warrior figures (myself included). Bandai America hasn't produced too many products (so far) that are shockingly bad, but Irwin produced quite a few. Jakks, on the otherhand, is only looked at positively via nostalgia, which is really weird. At the time, the collectors of DBZ were very upset with Jakks. We were used to getting tons of new characters from Irwin, and Jakks just kept releasing the same old stuff over and over with paint variations. They did have some really great figures sometimes, but more than half of the DBZ figures Jakks made were not important to a collector's collection (unless they cared about paint variations). Jakks made some really ugly products and disappointed us all frequently. Somehow the rarity of many of their ugly products (like SS4 Gogeta, for example) somehow outweigh how ugly some of them are. Bandai America's Dragon Stars line is insulted similar to the way Jakks was insulted. However, I have to give Bandai credit where it is due. When they release another Goku, or another Vegeta, or another saiyan similar to a previous release... the figure is generally important to a collection and colored appropriately for the transformation. For example, they've given us black haired Gogeta, SS Gogeta, and SSB Gogeta. Yes, on the one hand, it is annoying to see the same old thing repainted and sold to us, but these different forms are important to most people. With Irwin and Jakks, I generally had to repaint characters or head swap characters to get the other variations I wanted in my collection. Bandai and Dragon Stars do all the customizing for us. It's honestly really nice. The frustrating part is it takes them a lot longer to introduce new characters. We're getting a Tournament of Power Master Roshi, but how much longer will collectors have to wait to see Tournament of Power Tien, Android 17, and Android 18? It's frustrating like people say on social media.

If nothing else I see Dragon Stars figures at a lot of the targets I go too and they move fairly well it seems. I do wish they would make some more characters though like you said, its weird we still don't have even a ToP 17, I would have thought he'd be a no brainer with how major he is, though they have kinda slowed on doing Super stuff in the line, besides the blues, broly and Gogeta have we even gotten any since like, wave 6? At least we're getting Roshi. Is he out yet? I found listings for the like, convention pack of him and Goku but I couldn't find the solo figure, I'd like to get him

aquamarina Roshi is out in Hong Kong, but that might be the only place right now. It's hard to get information on release dates.

Branjita Ok cool ^^ That's good to know at least ^^ I honestly wasn't sure if he'd be getting a standard release or would just be in that pack so knowing he is is reassuring. ^^ I'm excited to get him ^^

Thanks Bran, I always enjoy reading your super detailed posts.
Ahhh,I remember the days when Jakks took over pretty fondly. I was part of the old forum, and iirc everyone was pretty excited by the first toyfair Jakks showcased at. They showed off a lot of exciting stuff.
I'm still surprised Dragon Stars hasn't done a Whis yet.
