I once had a guy trying to pass off a custom he supposedly made using a pic of one I made from Figure Realm. Does that count?  |

one day I was looking at eBay and there was a big lot of if labs figures for sale and in the lot was my battle damaged ss4 Goku in orange gi. I emailed the seller telling him I thought it was the custom I made and sold on eBay and asked him if he'd take a few shots of it by itself so I could tell if it was mine for sure. long story short he didn't take the pics. dick.

I have pics but I'm not on my computer right now. I didn't want to spend $400 on a bunch of figures I don't collect just to take a few pics of my custom he probably wouldn't wrap well and would arrive damaged.

I don't have a clue who owns it now. My SS Gogeta was better and I don't know who owns it either.

I know I got $90 for Gogeta at the time, which was the most I had ever sold a custom for at the time. If I made it now, it'd sell for me (and I'd have to sell it for more) just because the figures are more valuable now. I made that out of a Vegetto I bought from Toys R Us, SS4 Gogeta I think I got from there too, and a battle damaged series 1 SS Goku I already had that I bought new. So like $45 worth of parts instead of $100+.

If only that Yamcha you had a while back sold for that, ah well. Were those your only if lab customs(aside of launch).

I busted my ass on the paintjob of it so I was hoping for more, but $200 I'm pretty happy with. $300 and I think I would have felt like I profited off my time, but at $200 I think I broke even. I made an SS movie 9 Trunks. I think Jakks ended up releasing a pretty similar figure themselves, but mine was made from the tank top SS Trunks figure with orange hair. I repainted the hair and sculpted his jacket. And the SS Vegetto was just a hair repaint I think. I made him because only a black haired version existed at the time.
