I chose the Black Series troopers strictly cuz of the wide variety of characters they have so I'd want them all to be in scale. Darth looks good with them even though he's a bit on the short side. M5's right since the Black Series is a bit on the tall side to begin with. The Mafex one could be a good competitor with the Figuarts one but we have to wait and see. According to the specs, his size should put him in better scale with the Black Series as well.

True. I personally prefer the Figuarts still. IMO Hasbro have the most Star Wars character variety in this scale, and Tmashii the best quality.

I'm not saying the Figuarts Darth Vader doesn't look good, he does. But, he is not correctly scaled with the Black Series and that is just a fact. The Bandai model kit is correctly scaled at the same 1:12 as the rest of the Black Series.
It's enough to turn me off of the Figuarts, though. Because, that means figures like Luke will be way too short to fit with anything else. Luke would look like a child next to a stormtrooper or Boba Fett, and he will look very out of scale next to any R2-D2 or other droid. Black Series is my main line, because they are the easiest to get and much cheaper, along with the larger variety of characters. So, if it can't fit with them, I'll just skip it and save that money. I've already got a HUGE 3.75" Star Wars collection, I don't need a random third scale collection.

It's not an opinion, he isn't in the same scale. When Bandai's own 1:12 scaled Vader is about the exact same size as Hasbro's that pretty much says it all. It's pretty well accepted among most other collectors that Figuarts is a sub-1:12 scale line and won't fit with most other Western 6" lines. We also see this with the Kamen Rider Figuarts being smaller than the correctly scaled 1:12 Figurerise kits. Figuarts is not 1:12, that is a fact.
Now, if you can fudge him in and be happy, that's fine. If he's okay for you good, that is your opinion on him. But, Vader is between 6' 8" and 7' tall on film and is easily a head taller than most stormtroopers and more than a head taller than pretty much everyone else. The Figuarts Vader is just not in scale.
I was kinda hoping these might be a little larger, since it seemed like the Avengers Figuarts were leaning towards a little larger figures than normal.

It dosent say anything. The model kit and Black Series Vaders are just damn huge. And yeah iv'e seen those pics from the Fwoosh. I have the Trooper, so could visualize how will fit in my collection from the pics. And with a Figuarts trooper instead of the BS, I can tell that it would scale well with my other characters.
As for "pretty well accepted among most other collectors that Figuarts is a sub-1:12 scale " honestly no idea what are are you talking about. figma and Figuarts, Mafex etc are generally considered to be 1/12, and I would agree to that, those all work together. It's true that the western 6" stuff, that include the Black Series, are slightly larger scale. That dosen't mean that they can't be displayed, combined and be scaled together. imo the Figuarts Stormtrooper and Vader will look excellent next to most of the Hasbro stuff. Yeah there might be some inconsistency, I can see some characters working well, while others maybe not so much. Overall you can definitely create an awesome 6" Star Wars set up between Tamashii and Hasbro. Can't wait to get mines in and see how all will work out.

It does, because we have Bandai confirming the correct size for the 1:12 scale right there. Figuarts is in a different scale. That's fine, but it is. There is more to scale than just plain height. The features and proportions of the Figuarts will not be ideal to fit with the Black Series. You have different elements that make it look "off" like the helmet on Vader is too small, the fact that you have big hands in heavy leather gloves that are now as slender as figures with bare hands, and if you extend the legs all the way to make up for height you have longer legs. He's just too thin, overall. It's all valid points.
It's even more valid when you apply that to the rest of the Figuarts Star Wars figures. Luke will be too small for Black Series. What's Figuarts Darth Maul going to look like compared to Obi-Wan, and Qui-Gon when Hasbro makes him? You might be able to fudge Vader in, but the other figures won't be as easy to fit in.
Looking around, I'm seeing other people pointing out that he's a little short, too. It might not be a big deal to you, but for a person like me that scale sticks out more on some things...it is. And, I care so much because it really bums me out. The Figuarts Vader DOES look cool, and I really wanted him to be in scale. But, I couldn't put him in my collection and be happy. If you can, that's great! But, I can't.

Actually I spoke too soon it was listed on eBay and it only had 1 person bid on it. Next thing I know it as soon as the listings about to end a bunch of people start bidding last minute so it went from $20-$50. I'm pretty sure it was authentic based off the photo he posted.
