Incredible news for 5 inch scale collectors!! In Italy, Corriere dello Sport (a daily sports newspaper) will be having 5 inch scale (13cm) DBZ figures at newsstands... very similar to how DeAgostini DBGT figures were sold 15+ years ago!!! 😍 There will be 28 characters! These should begin distribution at the end of August, on August 26th, 2019. The statues will be published weekly: every Monday as attachment to the newspaper at the Italian newsstands participating in the initiative.

With any luck, this series will prove to be popular, and much like the DeAgostini DBGT figures, perhaps they will end up making a second set of figures. A set that could include Tien, Yamcha, Chaozu, Bulma, Nail, and more!
They will be 14.99 Euro ($16.81) which is pretty expensive for small statues without articulation, but this may be an opportunity to fill in characters in Irwin, Jakks, Super Battle Collection, DeAgostini, Editions Atlas, and AB Super Guerriers collections with characters that may not have been made before, or at least made in this size!
I've attached a picture of a figure made for a different purpose, to show the quality to expect.

Someone named Daniele Panda Fadda (who lives in Italy) corrected me on Facebook, saying that the figures would be a different material than the Capitan Tsubasa figures (that soccer player above). Said they would be made of something called metal resin, and not PVC.
Metal resin is apparently what their Marvel 3D collection was made of. She said it is heavier, but more fragile than PVC.
Based on these photos, I would assume we can expect pretty high quality sculpts! The price of them is very high, especially if you were to get them from Italy and sent to the US. At $16.82 each, and a heavy weight, these will be more expensive and more troublesome to obtain than DeAgostini figures.
I don't have a clue what metal resin could possibly be.
But these very much seem similar to DeAgostini and Editions Atlas DBGT figures. The Vegeta and Piccolo resemble the Bandai Real Works ones. Based on their photos (if you imagine the bases being a consistent size), it appears that these will scale pretty well. Vegeta will be quite small next to Piccolo.
The bases seem like they will be the same size, so I scaled them in Photoshop to be similar...
5 inch scale collectors might be most interested in getting these if they scale better than Irwin/Jakks options... or are wearing different outfits. The ones I am interested in seeing are: Krillin, Gohan, other Gohan, Android 18 (if she isn't wearing the skirt and vest outfit), SS Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Gotenks. However, these are very expensive at 15 euro each. There are many Bandai Real Works options that can fill in some of those characters, but at this point in time, it might be hard to find them for less than 15 euro each ($16.66 USD each). The Real Works SS Gohan is pretty good and so is the Gotenks. The rest aren't especially great (of those characters I've listed) compared to Irwin or other options. Real Works Krillin is posed in a fighting stance, so I consider him undesirable.
The Vegeta looks very similar to Real Works. He might end up scaling similar to Tarble.
I added a pic of DeAgostini SS4 Goku and Irwin Goku that I took years ago next to the shot of Corriere dello Sport Goku next to a DeAgostini SS4 Goku. The scaling is good/ok. The CdS Goku's head is a bit small, but figures from this line might work very well in SBC, Irwin, Jakks, DeAgostini, Editions Atlas, and AB Collections.

They look like they scale really well with each other! Vegeta was tiny in Saiyan Saga, and that Goku is from Cell Saga or newer, and so they are scaling just about right. And that Piccolo is a nice size for Cell Saga and newer.
I'm not surprised it is expensive. It's already expensive brand new in Italy at 15 Euros + the cost of the newspaper. PGV is collecting a few of these, but because of the high cost, he doesn't plan on buying all of them.
I feel like 5 inch collectors who don't customize, like ToadKart for example, will be very interested in Krillin. Based on their current plans... I will likely be able to skip buying any of these for my collection, because I've already made characters that are to scale.
I've asked this person if they would join DBF and share their videos and photos with us, to keep us updated on the new figures from this collection. He runs a Facebook page too.
The Krillin looks VERY good. You can tell how truly tiny the toddler Gohan is going to be. He is very expensive for his size, but I heavily appreciate CdS attempting to scale every character properly/somewhat properly so far.
And the scaling of the characters looks very nice. Vegeta was very short in Saiyan Saga. This Piccolo would only be suitable for Cell or Buu Saga because of his incredibly tall height. If it was in my collection, it would have to be used in the Buu Saga display.
I really want this collection ! they scale so good !! even the face are really good (and i know how ts difficult to find 5inch figures with a good face !
btw thanks Branjita to share it here !
