Vegeta can pose just fine without the base but trunks can't. He doesn't come with the blowing wind effect like vegeta so his legs get no support. Believe it or not however, I prefer them on the base. It provides an earth like feeling; adding realism to the figure.

The bases look pretty nice in person compared to the kind of lame frisbees that come with hq dx figures too. Those figuarts zero ones are at least quality and not just solid black, basic disks.

I legit laughed out loud at the frisbee comparison . I don't notice black or clear stands on my figures so they don't bother me. The brown (from pictures anyway) just sticks out to me. If I displayed them high enough though, I suppose I wouldn't have to look at the bases if I continue to find them offensive.

Frieza is such a beautiful figure. He looks so much better than the SHF version! I really want to get him some time, I just wish these were cheaper. Can't wait to see your pics, roshisurprise.

I agree man, he looks much better to me too. These figures deserve more love than what they get! As soon as he arrives, I'll be sure to post them pics

It looks like the two Frieza figures are to scale... can you take some comparison photos of just those two? Yes sir I will. Been working a ton recently, I should be able to do that this weekend.

I haven't bought any of them yet, but in November I am planning to purchase Vegeta, Trunks and Freiza.

Update: Trunks can stand just fine without the base so long as you're not constantly bumping into your display. Although, I don't hate the base as much in person and I cannot really see it that well where I have it displayed anyway.

I got Freeza as a gift from my husband when we wandered into the local Barnes and Nobel yesterday, and spotted him on a shelf with the regular Figuarts base Goku and Piccolo. That was a surprise. My husband got Freeza for me as a gift, since we hadn't expected to see DBZ Figuarts in a popular American chain store. I was a bit weary about getting Freeza because I wasn't entirely happy with the sculpts on these when I saw it in pics. But after I took the Freeza out, I was surprised at how much I liked it. It was about $35 and can be found on the Barnes and Nobel website. ... I also love everything my husband buys me... except for the Dragon Ball Evolution gag gift he got me several years ago for Christmas.

I own SSJ Goku and SSJ Trunks bootlegs. Just ordered official Frieza and will order official Spirit Bomb Goku. I thought the former were only ok so I settled for the bootlegs, but the latter are so amazing I had to go legit.

The ZERO Freeza looks a tad bigger, to be honest. I understand he's physically more imposing, but their heads don't seem to be the same size.
Could be just me.

Oh no, I agree. It's perhaps 2 to 5% too large overall to look like it's the same scale. He took great comparison pics though.
With them designing these on computers I don't know why they don't just scale every head to be basically the same size and then scale the bodies proportionately. I don't design in 3D, but in 2D I do that sort of stuff all the time and it's easy.
