Could you post a group pic of the unreleased series 3 db figures?
And are they the same size as production versions or bigger/smaller? For reference, the production Yamcha is exactly 7 inches tall at his tallest hair spike.
Were play sets/backgrounds designed for them as well?!

Awesome pics! I wish they had released Murasaki, Ox King, and Tao. Jackie Chun has a Zombie face, lol. But these are so cool.

WOW...you are very lucky to have these.
This question was raised a while back and I think I see what's going on here now...obviously IF Labs was working on a Krillin. I can't say for sure but I'm assuming it was similar in size to the IF Labs Kid Goku but when Jakks got their hands on it they scaled it down to fit in the five inch line and then made a separate Goku head to throw onto the body.

Oh my gosh, if that Jackie Chun is the same size as Roshi, then those are really big! Unless Jackie was made smaller (unlikely since he was probably made to fight tournament Goku and therefore the same scale as Roshi)... that would mean Tao is significantly larger than Yamcha. I can't believe after like 12 years these have finally surfaced! Part of me is like and the other part is like going coo coo for cocoa puffs. My gosh I wish these were released!

Yes. Characters that have otherwise, never been made. What a horrible mistake and dose of bad luck that the bankruptcy happened before these got to primetime. If they were 5 inch scale, I'd literally be begging db999 for them. Or at least for the Murasaki since I've managed to make the others and Ox King got a Scultures release.

Why did they have to go bankrupt? They were going to make some very cool stuff in the DB, DBZ, and DBZ movie lines. I really wish Jakks had made all of the things Irwin had planned, rather than just some of it.

I just compared to the production figure of Krillin and Goku, and the Krillin prototype is actually the body Jakks used for Goku. For whatever reason, Jakks actually used a slightly different sculpt for Krillin. The Krillin production figure has slightly shorter, thicker pants, a diagonal left knee joint, different shirt sculpt, no "butt plug" to fill in the hole for the tail that the blue outfit Goku comes with (who also shares this body), and Krillin comes with a right hand that is slightly open. You can compare here.

Those Dragonball prototypes are so cool!! It's such a shame that they couldn't be released. All 4 look amazingly detailed, but, in my opinion Ox King is the best.
That's interesting, Bran. I wonder why Jakks made the changes... I mean, it's not like they were against reusing parts, lol.

I don't really have time to be looking at all of the pics on the Photobucket link at the moment, but I'm making time anyway . I wonder if the DB Series 3 figures could actually be molded and produced by another manufacturer legally? It's been at least 10 to 12 years since they were made, and doesn't a copyright only last 10 years? DB999, could you post a picture of Jackie Chun without his wig on his head next to Master Roshi if you have Roshi? If you don't have Roshi, how about a shot without the wig next to tournament Goku in the red/orange gi? I wish this line of DB IF Labs figures continued... We could have had Chi Chi, Oolong, Tien, Chaozu, King Piccolo, Kami, etc.... I do like that the Krillin and Goku Jakks released (as well as the Krillin prototype) scale better with the IF Labs Yamcha, Lunch, Mai, etc. than the IF Labs Gokus even if they aren't as impressive looking. The Pirate Robot is a decent size since he'd be huge at the same scale as Yamcha, Lunch, Mai, etc. I'm not sure why the General Blue has a 6 inch scale body and 4 inch scale head though. The Super Roshi has a body about 8 inch scale and head 6 inch scale as well, so he doesn't fit in very well. His sculpt is amazing though, and he's perfect for a custom figure of Bora at 5 inch scale, or Garlic Jr. at 5 inch scale.
