Honestly, the only thing wrong with it in my eyes is the oversized head. The body proportions are actually quite good. With a smaller head, it wouldn't look so out of scale. I don't really think it ruins the figure, though, I'm still seeing an amazing figure.
almost forgot...no stoic face? That's bizarre. I really can't see a second version of Kid Goku coming out (even though a blue gi release would make sense), so why would they leave out a main generic face?

Ok, good. It's not as bad as some of the pictures made it seem (the head is definitely the worst element), so I'm glad.
It's funny, I went through this very weird phase with this figure where I had decided that I was done with it, because the only reason I wanted it was to fulfill a childhood desire to pair him against a Kid Vegeta that was NEVER going to happen EVER, and there was no way I was going to get something equivalent to it because of how bad the scale is... so I had actually cancelled my pre-order. But then I remembered the original reason I was actually excited for the non-DB proportions originally and doubled back on that. I've got two ordered now instead of just the one, and I will be turning them into a Goten and Trunks. They'll be a bit big sure, but I think they'll work with the also large-ish Gotenks.
But seriously though, that head needs to be like 5% smaller easily.

I’m ok with it being out of scale because not sure I’d enjoy a tiny figure! Ditto for Gotenks when he comes out.

saiyanpunk Yeah, I tend to agree. The thing is, I know canically looking at screenshots and art that Goten and Trunks should come up to Goku's shin... but I *have* a 6-8 year old adopted sibling, and he comes up to higher than this Goku. You can point out that they're saiyans and Toriyama's retcon of saiyans staying younger looking longer, but that still doesn't change the fact that in Super Goten and Trunks look 3 years old compared to Goku. I've seen customs for Goten, Trunks, and Kid Goku that are "the correct height" and it just looks wrong even though I *know* they're accurate to the manga and anime.

This Kid Goku figure looked off to me from the beginning, and I think I know why, it's because they've stuck the original Dragonball 86' series kid Goku head, on the body of kid Goku from 10 years later when the art style changed to the more slender look, how he looked in Path to Power or GT. They should of made him with a stumpy podgy body or made his head in tone with the updated kid Goku. |

I dunno. Even the later art for Kid Goku retains the big head. I think a lot of people are comparing him to Goten, who was more in proportion, but if they made the head smaller it just wouldn't be acurate to the source material:   |

Kid Goku's head is twice as big as the SDCC Goku's head. It's so disappointing to see, mostly because I think everything else looks perfect, reallly perfect. It looks so great in that pic with the SDCC Goku...yet the head is all huge. Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would ever want strict adherence to the original Dragon Ball art when it just makes the line (largely consisting of Z figures) more inconsistent. Kid Goku has been shown with updated proportions many times and the design looks perfectly fine.  |

The body scales pretty well, it's a shame that the head is so big. If they wanted to keep the scale, they should've made the body smaller (since his head is big in the manga/ anime), but that would be much more difficult to make.
The truth is, they didn't give a sh*t to correct scale in this line most of the times. Why do they wanna keep accurate now? they should just made the head smaller to fit the rest of the figures, nobody would complain about that.
The photoshopped version looks so much better than what we got.

I’m hoping the SDCC this year will be anime version of Nappa. I passed on manga Nappa because I think the anime version will look so much better!
