So I have been tracking an order that I recently made using SAL shipping. It's says that the order was dispatched from the outward office of exchange on the 9th. Until today, it still hasn't arrived. Does this make sense; that the flight of the order takes more than 10 days?? It usually takes 5 to 7 days. What do you guys think? Should I contact mandarake? Did this happen to any of you before?

I don't remember where you live, but here's my experiences with SAL, which I posted in the mandarake thread despite having never purchased from there: Even though these were ebay purchases I'm talking about, I wanted to post this somewhere so others might benefit. I've purchased several small figures from Japan in the last few months, and these are how many days they took to get to me. Many Japanese sellers on ebay say that SAL takes 3 to 5 weeks, some say 2 to 4 weeks. Japan to US via SAL: -29 days -17 days -7 days -20 days -10 days -9 days Overall, pretty crazy how much it varies. I did check, and all of these were definitely sent SAL.

When I buy overseas, it usually takes a week to 30 days. I haven't had an issue yet. If you don't get it in 40 days contact eBay, ask for an appeal. This is a method I've used before to bypass the 30 day money back guarantee. Yes, eBay will appeal items even after 30 days with no complaint. EBay is run by a bunch of lawyers. This is a option you want to use very, very last. From what I'm told it's a one time deal.

Does the tracking show the parcel's arrival in Egypt?

Yea it does. It shows the day the package actually left the airport for flight and the day it arrives at the egyptian airport. Since it has taken longer than usual, I am kinda worried the package is lost, but I'm hoping for the best.

I don't worry until after a month if it's an international purchase. Just be patient.

Stupid me for picking SAL as well for shipping. It was the cheapest option and I didn't check until it was too late.
Should of just gone with EMS like I always do.

Yea I wish I can always use EMS but it costs like 3 times more than SAL!

I only have the EMS option now as they no longer send SAL from Japan to Australia. Even then I still think the extra cost of EMS is well worth it for the peace of mind.

On the Japanese side of things, EMS never usually costs me that much compared to something like DHL. Most I've paid for EMS was about 1800 yen but that was mostly because it was a bigger box than the normal figures I buy. Common cost is usually somewhere between 1200 - 1500 yen.

Hey roshi, well SAL is a navel shipping, EMS is a plane shipping I think. I know that there are some delays here right now with parcels, maybe it is a thing with the Mediterranean region or the red sea.

I didn't know that. Maybe that's the reason. Thanks M5. It surely is good to have someone living in the same region as you. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who deals with shipping hell
