I figured I'd give a history lesson on what started it all. Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary and his wife Sophie were both killed after their wedding in 1914. Austria-Hungary and Germany previously had a deal to protect each other. That's what started it all. This is also in part what started Hitler's WW2. The book Mein Kampf was inspired during WW1.

Yep, with everything that's currently going on over in Ukraine, Iraq, and elsewhere right now, it makes me wonder if "they" have anything special planned this year for the 100th anniversary.

Its realy interesting how WW1 and WW2 impacted many around the world. I remember my teacher talking about how the great war impacted and what we thought about it, and I remember saying it had nothing to do with me or it did not impacted me in any way. but come to find out my ancestors were Sephardic and Roma-gypsys who fled Europe and came to The Americas, to escapee Persecution. so it did have a lot to do with me and many others who may not be aware. Its crazy finding out that the Great war was the reason for my ancestors coming here.
