Hi. I live in England so it's pretty rare for me to buy anything from America. I think I bought an expensive tie that was a steal once and got stuck with the import charges in my younger years (learnt from my mistake and didn't do it again).
That being said, with an interest in collecting now, it seems the only way to have access to a lot of the figures is to import from the US or Japan.
Can anyone give me some info on whether I will have to pay import charges every time or are there ways of reducing the cost?
I believe you might be able to label something as a gift with a small monetary value and it won't be checked or something but I honestly have very little knowledge on the subject.
Thanks for your time.

Ems, Ups, and some other private parcels delivery service always screw you over with the fees. USPS from the US and SAL from Japan are what I use. Labeling a low value on a parcel or a gift can help avoid fees as well. I guess it all vary from country to country though.
