Unless I REALLY need to!
The first time I used SAL, it wasn't so bad compared to EMS.
Now though? URGH!
I thought I could handle the slowness of it but when you have multiple items incoming and you want them all? DX

Story of my life. Thankfully, a lot of what I bought weeks ago is due in this week

It's not so bad. Cmakhk lives in Hong Kong and is able to ship things super slow to me. I've been waiting I think 6 weeks so far for my package. Probably have another 2 or 3 weeks left to wait. SAL takes about 2 to 4 weeks, so it isn't too, too bad.

I like sal, it's slow but cheap. I always prefer to save up and wait. you get fees with ems too in some places.

I really don't mind SAL at all. Nearly all figures I have shipped using SAL arrived within two to three weeks which is awesome compared to the 10 days it will take EMS items to arrive and the huge price difference between both.
Also, something I have learned the hard way is that customs I pay for SAL items is like 2.5 times less than customs I pay for EMS shipped items.

I use EMS for MOST of my purchases. Exceptions might include really inexpensive items and auction wins on eBay... Generally with SAL I usually have my items in 12 days or less (I had one SAL package come in 5 days after shipped...), though I had one package take 6 weeks once. EMS is 2-4 days. Usually 3 days. Rarely 4 days.

Ya I hate that Sal with the gleaming red eye.
