I never watched Naruto because I know I can never watch a 600+ episode anime that is still running. Knowing now that there is an end to it, I might actually start watching it. Though, I understand how sad this might be to the naruto fans reading it for that long.

Naruto never really interested me... However I do have some friends that are heavily into it, and based on how much they've been bitching about it lately, I'd say it's a good thing...

It's not like they were trying really hard anymore anyway. Pretty much One Piece is the only one of the long-running popular mangas where the author still cares about it a lot and is putting effort in. I know that the author of Bleach at least has taken whole chapters off, and had them drawn by stand in/assistant artists. Contrast to Toriyama who only ever had one assistant at a time...
Then again I don't really read any of them, I'm just informed by other people... maybe what's being made now is still good, compared to the rest of the series that is. I'm no expert.

I agree, and I also am not a huge fan of Naruto; and I'm glad that it's finally coming to an end because of the fact that it's taken so long to end, it lingers like a fart that won't dissipate. But from the story that I did gather, it seems similar to Bleach where once you figured everything out, something else would be tossed in the mix. I hate stories like that, and it drags on and on. Indeed, Toriyama only ever had one assistant working with him, which was actually the reason why he came up with the design of the Super Saiyan. His assistant was taking too long to do the blackfills on Goku's hair, so he came up with a version of Goku that would need no blackfill. It's ingenious really if you think about it. But then again, you can tell that Toriyama also stopped caring at the end of the manga. At least he finished it himself though.

Sounds like any great show that last too long. Same thing happened to Beverly Hillbillies. They run out of ideas yet don't want to stop making money. It ends up something it wasn't meant to be.
