Yeah, this is the Dragon Summon version isn't it? I think I prefer the interior on the Figure-rise mechanics version. Look forward to it's release next month!

antaresreviews That looks much more accurate to what the interior of Vegeta's space pod actually looked like! The computer display looks like the anime version.
I'm not sure why nobody ever makes the telescoping rods blue as well as all of the carpet, but this one is at least the closest I think.

Branjita, I guess people often like to interpret blue-on-grey shading as just grey. Blue is often used where a darker shade of grey just doesn't look good. That's not to say the space pod isn't actually meant to be blueish though.

That's a good point. Gray or blue paint/plastic on the telescoping rods or linear actuators or whatever those things are called would look nicer either way. The Figure-rise Mechanics one is nice in that regard. The random green marks and the details on the seat are minor unnecessary things to me. Either way, both are very cool.

It's worth noting that the original review that Anthony did was for the "test shot" of the Dragon Summon Space Pod. It was just a prototype, and wasn't finished.
They just sent him the finalized retail version, and the colours look much better on it. I'll definitely get this one over the Figurerise one. The Figurerise one looks decent, but it's just going to be waaay too big to correctly scale with any of the Figuarts.

Looks like I can safely sell the Irwin pod. The Dragon Summon looks to be the most accurate one we have to date

jonmichael That... is a thing of beauty! I can't watch the video with sound. Is that a button inside it? What does it do?

The Dragon Summon pod is made to fit with Figuarts, plain and simple. It has correct colours and details, in addition to the electronics. It's about $10-15 more expensive than the Figurerise one, but the extras that it has easily make up that price. So, I really don't see the price as being the most important factor. As for Figurerise, the ONLY figure that has been anywhere near the same size as the figuarts has been Gohan. The rest have been very much larger, and out of scale. Here is a shot of the Goku, compared to figuarts. It's not even close. t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQIVYWjWkYmDuRwQ2ZrlKw7STBg4Oj3Ls4TmzfrwY9aQE4Mu2KKThe fixed-posed Vegeta figure that comes with the Figurerise pod, looks like it's very similar in size to the Goku. Meaning, it will be huge compared to the figuarts Vegeta. s3.amazonaws.com/tf.images/reduced-galery_image_12080_20881.jpgAlso, looking at the comparisons the Figurerise pod looks like it will dwarf any Figuarts figure. It's going to be substantially larger, being even taller than Figuarts Goku. While the Dragon Summon Space Pod is about the same height as Vegeta. pbs.twimg.com/media/Cl8WIiGUsAAbWnK.jpgIf saving that little bit of money is the most important thing, and you don't care about scale. Then, you could probably be ok with the Figurerise one. You could just put it in the back of a display, and try to hide its size. I just think the Dragon Summon one is a better overall value, looks better, and it fits in better with figuarts. scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/fr/cp0/e15/q65/14067764_960167440760885_4018118298446804452_o.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9

Just curious, is this Dragon Summon pod officially licensed? It looks nice with the lights I must say.

Just curious, is this Dragon Summon pod officially licensed? It looks nice with the lights I must say. No, it's not a licensed item. It is a third party item, similar to the many companies releasing their own versions of Transformers. But, it was made using fan input and with Figuarts specifically in mind.

Angelo2113 posted this pic on Sideshow and said it was taken by someone named Takeshi Miyagi on Facebook. The Figure-rise Standard Perfect Cell would definitely scale better with the Figuarts SS2 Gohan than the Figuarts Perfect Cell since the Gohan was made way too large for an 11 year old Gohan. The feet on this Cell look enormous though. I suppose he's not perfect for Figuarts Gohan's scale, but he's not bad and a little more appropriate than the Figuarts Cell.

Your arguement, meanwhile, was that Figurerise are similar scale to Figuarts. That is just flat out wrong, as has been proven multiple times with comparison pictures of the Figurerise figures towering over the Figuarts. You can think what you want, but Figurerise IS in a larger scale. The pod on a stand is taller than Figurerise Goku, you can see how much taller Figurerise Goku is compared to Figuarts Goku. Taking that stand away isn't going to magically make the pod that much smaller. But, if you'd like we can just go by the official measurements. Bandai lists the diameter of the pod as almost 6 and a half inches tall. That still makes it significantly larger than Vegeta. That makes it even a little taller than Figuarts Piccolo, even. So, it's still way too big. It, actually, has the same listed height as Figuarts Android 16.
Figurerise and Figuarts are NOT the same scale. The Figurerise pod is scaled to Figurerise. It's out of scale, plain and simple. You can like it, and get it. I'm not telling you not to. I'm just pointing out that the Dragon Summon pod is going to fit a lot better with Figuarts, because it was made specifically to.
Personally, I don't think a pod as tall as that would really look all that great next to Figuarts Vegeta. :-/
