Hey guys, know this probably belongs in the 'Check it out' topic above, but I'm taking a bit of a liberty here. Hope this is ok with the mods. Anyway, just got this sucker back from the AFA today. I have owned five of these 3 packs in my lifetime. This is the only one I've have left. It's been laying flat in a cabinet for years, and I really wanted to find a way to protect it. After seeing someone get some Figuarts graded on another thread, I reached out to AFA and asked them to consider this one for grading. I'm not so much about using AFA for resale purposes, but I knew they'd custom fit a UV-resistent acrylic case for this. I really just wanted to protect it and seal it away more than anything, but I'm thrilled with the results and final grading. It ranked an 85, not too shabby for a 23-year-old item. They averaged in the condition of the box, the window and the paint on the figures, which all scored an 85. 100's in any toyline are almost unheard of, and 90's or 95's usually come from case fresh 'uncirculated' figures. So scoring an 85 was pretty much the best I could do, and I'm ecstatic it got so high. I mean, maybe I could've gone for a 90 had this not sat away collecting dust and whatnot for so many years, but I doubt it would have anyway. The majority of mint vintage toys will score an 85, which equates to a grade of NM+. They said this is the only one in the world that's been graded, and hope this doesn't come off snarky, but being their strict grading routine and the fact that so many of these have either had the tape peel off/cut off or been opened at least once, I don't know if another would come along this high. Check out the pictures below:

Damn that's badass, I have these figures loose, but I really want to buy one in mint shape sometime if I can.

Very jealous of this. Would love to own any SBCs in this kind of shape.

That's really cool. Keeping something old like that in good shape is hard! I understand why someone might want to get a case for something like that. I don't understand it with the figuarts figures though since most come with the brown cardboard box that fits perfectly. It's a shame the movie 7 three pack didn't come with a perfectly fitted cardboard box to go around it!

I've thought about doing this with a few of my figures just for the hell of it. Probably will someday. I'd like to have my Bandai USA 97 figures done up like this. I wouldn't care about the cardboard box method since you can't actually see the figures that way anyway.
