As MOST if not everyone knows by now, Dragonball z is coming out with a new series (Lol) I'm not sure if it was posted anywhere but, now that there is going to be a new series, do you guys think that JAKKS, IRWIN, and Bandai will come out with new dbz figures? I'm talking about how it used to be like in the good old days where you can buy a figure for 10-15$.
What are your thoughts on this guys?

Thanks for that Ice Cube. By the way, why you have to go and sell out like that dawg?

I doubt Bandai will ever give up the Dragonball license again after seeing how much Irwin and Jakks made off it even though almost everything they've tried to release in the US has pretty much failed.

If anything, hopefully they ramp up production for their figuarts line and reissue some of the more ridiculously costed figures. I wouldn't doubt bandai may option the license into some other toy lines as well though. Sure figuarts is super popular, but they aren't the kinds of toys that parents impulse buy for children.

It'd be interesting to see a domestic Dragon Ball line of figures released, but I'd say it's unlikely. If Dragon Ball Super does well then I could see Bandai attempting to release figures here again.

Irwin went bankrupt, Jakks no longer has the license, and Bandai released nothing but crap in the US after that.

I wish someone would release $10-15 figures, even if they were like Bandai's real works figures with no articulation, just 5 inch scale, not 4. I would be totally fine with that, but they'd have to take a more ambitious route for character selection. Give us characters like Princess Snake, Metal Cooler, Fat Gotenks, and many more minor characters.

Dragon Ball Z had been over for YEARS when it saw its peak popularity in the states. So a new series could be enough to fuel Dragon Ball fandom for another decade.

I think if there is a hope for a $5-10 line, it would be due to popularity picking up not only in nostalgic watchers, but new younger viewers as well. If it could reach a new peak, then I think we could expect a line like that.

The bonus with $5-10 figures too is that they'll release a lot in a short period of time, so while my dream of minor characters may not be a total reality, we'll at least be guaranteed to see some. When I look at the AB and Deagostini line, we see a lot of minor characters that have otherwise, never seen the light of day aka Android 15, Minotia, Kami, Popo, Sugoro, etc

Agreed. Would be nice to pick up a figure on a random trip to Target, Wal-Mart, or an anime shop.

I actually wouldn't mind a company picking up the license to produce some DBZ figures. It would give me an excuse to actually go to stores more often.
