I've seen these images floating around for months, but even though they're fast approaching their release date (end of May according to my sources) I still know next to nothing about them. Does anyone have any info on these guys? I know they're being put out by Banpresto, they're supposed to be 20cm (or about 8 inches) tall, and according to the listings I've seen on eBay they're being called "Dragon Ball Super Goku Figure Genki Dama Special." I'm assuming they have no connection to any other lines put out by Banpresto, but why this specific release? I'm really confused by it. It seems pretty random, but I'm excited nonetheless. The sculpts and paint jobs on these figures looks pretty good. I think I prefer the base Goku because it's a more classic Freeza saga look, but I like the SSJ Goku version as well. I don't know if I'll buy the SSJ version though. But here they are! If anyone has any information about these guys aside from what I've given, I'd love to hear it. Also, I think these guys look a lot better than the Figuarts Zero version. But of course, my opinion may be biased since I really don't like that line.

The base Goku represents him on the Buu saga stage. The last attack against Kid Buu.

The base Goku represents him on the Buu saga stage. The last attack against Kid Buu. He looked like that against Freeza as well.

But the belt is different on the Freeza saga. That's the uniform he uses since the Cell saga to Buu. Did he use a Genkidama against Freezer, though? I can't really remember that.
And about the info you're looking for, we don't know much about, but they're coming out this month and are supposed to measure what you said.

I'm just really curious about why they decided to sell these two figures. They aren't a part of any other line. They look cool though, so I'm just glad they're giving us good figures.

Oh I see. I didn't remember that scene. But as you can see the belt is different. So this figure is based on the Buu saga appearance when he fought against Kid Buu. I agree with you, this "line" is kind of random and came out of nowhere. I don't think they will be making any other figures, but if they're good sized it would be cool to see other characters and their final attacks, like Piccolo beam against Raditz or half cut Freeza against Goku, amongst others.

Oh okay. I see what you mean about the belt now. It took me a while to realize what you were talking about. That means I can display him with my Boo saga figures!

Great! I have already ordered and now wait with excitement. I've got mine on the way too! Amazing figure, looks much better than the Figuarts Zero. Ketchup Hiroyuki Nakazawa is the sculptor right?

Looks awesome! Mine finally shipped today, so I should be getting it soon. I may even pick up the SSJ version as well because these things look great.

That is one of the best likenesses of Goku I have ever seen. What scale are these guys in? Any comparisons with other Banpresto figures for comparison?
