Figure-Rise Standard Broly looks great in person. It's a painted prototype but still looks outstanding...

Figure looks great but Broly is missing his nipples. =| I saw a post somewhere for these FRS where the poster had all of the figures released till date and at the end had two mysterious figures yet to be revealed. I can't guess who they might be but I'm hoping one of them is the all mighty Omega Shenron or maybe this could be a paired release like Trunks/Vegeta Goku/Krillin ? Time will tell. themadcap1970 Great work on posting new stuffs. Very very cool.

Would love to see the poster you've seen, Alden. Omega Shenron would be a great addition to the series!

I had seen it in the news feed on one of the Dbz groups in FB, DBZcollectors united to be precise but can't remember exactly where and in who's profile was it as i didn't take it too seriously thinking it would get shared, spread and become a common sighting. However, I tried searching some profiles and their endless posts but no luck, sorry. Will try again later and update if i come across it.

I can't believe people are actually saying that the S.H. Figuarts figures look better than these; it seems like people drool over the S.H. Figuarts line strictly because everyone else does. Just comparing these Gokou's alone is enough to sell me on these model kits (especially as they're only $40.00 in Canada while the S.H. Figuarts are $100.) Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Figuarts' quality (articulation, sculpt) is considerably better than Figure-rise. On the other hand, the cost benefit of these model kits is a big advantage, as you said. I'm happy with both lines selling well, this way I can keep collecting S.H. Figuarts and buying stuff that never came out as Figuarts (like the Time machine, wich is great).

I can't believe people are actually saying that the S.H. Figuarts figures look better than these; I can believe it. It's not because we're blind fanboys, rather we have a difference in opinion. For example, here are some issues I have with the Figurerise Goku, that you might not mind at all; -The cut next to the shoulder, while it adds articulation, is pretty large and unsightly. -The cut around the bicep is in my view unnecessary. -The rendering of the belt folds looks very strange, I think they should run parallel rather than curving around. -The folds in the pants are also strange, almost too simplistic, mainly that one area where they sweep really high up. I prefer the Figuarts rendition. -I hesitate to include the knee cut, since the Figuarts Goku isn't much better, but the 2.0 figures are nicer in this regard. -Finally there's a big gap at the ankle, with a very visible ball joint. This might yield greater ankle motion but that gap is very big. None of that makes the Figurerise worthless or even bad, but its enough for me to say I prefer the Figuarts version. They're still fantastic representations, and I really want Mecha Frieza to come out. And they're far more cost effective, as has been said; if Figuarts prices keep going up, these will soon become the best option.

For me it's a case to case basis as to which I prefer. For instance I think Figure-Rise Trunks has a much better sculpt that Figuarts Trunks, and I prefer the buffer Figure-Rise Cell to the IMO rather scrawny looking Figuarts Cell. On the other hand I think that this year's Figuarts SSJ2 Gohan looks better than Figure-Rise Gohan
Also, believe it or not, the Figure-Rise models played a role in getting me into Dragon Ball. Unlike most people here, I did not grow up with Dragon Ball. I am however, a long time Gundam fan, and I've been building those models for years. When Bandai started putting out the Figure-Rise Standard models last year, I kind of thought "oh hey some of those are actually pretty cool" and so I decided to give Kai a watch.

It opens up the world of Dragon Ball to model kit collectors such as yourself. Very cool to hear that!
