Bandai America Dragon Ball Evolve (5" scale figures)

I'm glad to see new Evolve figures on display, even if they are mostly repaints with different heads. I'll be very pleased if the production version of Goku and Vegeta is colored like that, because I like Bandai's attention to detail when they actually color the bodies of non-SS characters darker than their SS counterparts.

It does not appear that SS3 Goku has more muscular arms or even a different body from Goku. That's upsetting.

Still, I am extremely disappointed to not see Gamma 1, Gamma 2, Beast Gohan, and SS Rose Goku Black prototypes. Making a custom Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 for my collection is never going to happen due to how difficult that would be. I don't have any idea what base figure would be remotely useful, and whatever I'd find would never be articulated like these figures. And there are almost zero circumstances where I am willing to make a Saiyan character for my collection, considering Bandai has such a history of releasing almost nothing but Saiyans. In other words: I shouldn't need to make my own Goku Black or Beast Gohan. Bandai rarely makes anything other than Saiyans, so they should make them.

I still want SS2 Kefla more than any other character. With Bandai's history of ignoring female characters, I don't know if we'll ever get one, but considering she's one of the 5 more powerful characters in the entire Dragon Ball Super series... and a Saiyan... I don't know how or why they would ignore her.

In related news, someone messaged me on instragram saying that this wave of Evolve is on Walmart's website. I was able to find them with Google's help, but sadly there is no release date specified. I am super hopeful Evolve will finally be more than just 1 wave per year. I really hope the release date doesn't end up being August.

If we are lucky, hopefully Bandai will make magenta/red hair repaints of Goku and Vegeta this year as Super Saiyan God exclusives for Walmart and Target (like the SS Goku and SS Vegeta were in 2022).

Just wanted to share some of Bandai's cool graphics for some of the Evolve figures on their Amazon store:






SS3 Goku, Goku, and Vegeta aren't on there yet... I am really, really hoping they won't be August releases... I want them much sooner...

Also... in case this needs to be said... because I just thought of it... it's nice to see that the 6th series will not be store exclusives. Walmart may not have photos or updated descriptions for them yet... but they are ON Walmart's website, so there's no way that any of them are Amazon exclusives or similar. I don't mind some of these figures being store exclusives (I actually like it), but I would prefer store exclusives be repaints. As such, I hope we see a SSG Goku repaint as a store exclusive this year.

I just compared my SS Goku's body to this pic of the SS3 Goku, and I'm surprised, but it is a new body. The base form Goku is using the same body as the SS and SSB Goku figures, but the legs and torso on the SS3 Goku are definitely different. Surprisingly the arms look different too. They might be the same arms as UI Goku, but I don't think they are. They look different!

This has me more excited for SS3 Goku than I previously was.

Also, in comparing the Vegeta to my SS Vegeta, it looks like they are using exactly the same body, but Vegeta's head (hair) is a new mold and his fists are inserted much deeper than the SS Vegeta or SSB Vegeta's arms allowed. It looks good! It's a pity that they didn't give him new knees (and shorter arms and legs overall to decrease his height), but I'm glad he has a new hair sculpt!
