Branjita The ones in this post are 3D printed with my recently acquired 3D resin printer. It's maybe not always as satisfying as building something yourself from scratch or with a base figure that you modify heavily, but it's hard to beat for accuracy. And my favorite part has always been painting them so at least I can still do that on 3D prints.  Plus you have to learn new tricks to paint non-translucent resin for the scouters for instance, I painted the eye and skin on the actual scouter and then applied a translucent blue plastic film over it, and I think it looks quite convincing on Raisin and Lakasei.

I waited a long time before deciding to buy a resin printer but I'm glad I did, it's still pretty amazing to me that I can just print some stuff from scratch, it's like a Star Trek replicator or something. But there is a learning curve to 3D printers and it took me a while to figure out how to be able to print anything.. something to consider. As I see it, it's not an extra hobby, it's just an extra option to add stuff / parts /sculpts into my existing hobby of customizing figures or being able to print stuff no company will do. |

While sorting bits and pieces of various figures and accessories, I stumbled upon an old Saiyaman bootleg I'd bought like two years ago, decided to give him a new life and made him Gohan Black (hair is from one of the Super Hero Gohan figures and face is from Gohan Beast). He joins his buddies in the What If? display   |

Branjita Thanks a lot! Since I used a Gohan Beast faceplate and a regular Gohan Super Hero hair piece, I decided to paint the whole black hair into a pale grey to be the same tint as the small patch of hair near the ears on the faceplate. Once that was done I did two coats of a pearl pink paint I got at a local craft store. Nothing special but I had used the same paint for the Goku Black SSJ3 next to Gohan Black so I knew it worked nicely for that.

Still going through my bits and pieces, I forgot I had grabbed a bootleg Xenoverse Trunks ages ago so when I found it today I went and turned him into Trunks Black Rosé. I didn't like the skinny Xenoverse Trunks legs so I gave him Dragon Stars Gotenks legs I had lying around, and changed the head for one of the spare Super Trunks I had grabbed to do the Saiyans above. Repainted the body, hair and gave the sword a makeover to look like an energy blade. I painted the blade pearl pink like his hair, then a deep purple glitter coat, and then used a knife to create crackles in the purple to show the pink underneath, and added a spare pink lightning effect I had lying around.  |
