So last night, I had a pretty detailed and frightening dream. My wife and I and toddler baby were in our apartment with some company over and a storm blew through. It wasn't that bad, but then it took a turn for the worse. Literally. A tornado went right over us and I pretty much witnessed myself and my boy go bursting out of the roof once it was taken. I woke up in a small field about 100 yards from our complex and searched for my family. Luckily, my wife and baby survived and they were okay. Thank goodness. However, we tried going back to our place, but our brick apartment complex (which used to be a navy base) was completely gone. All that was left were a small tiny pile of bricks. It was as if the series of buildings were ripped up out of the ground. Since my family was fine, the next thing that hit my mind was my collection lol . Gone. The foundation of the complex was missing as well and it left a huge hole or pool of black water that was connecting to the massive lake that we live near. Inside, rushing toward the lake inlet were all my figures and customs (well, just some of them). I frantically grabbed a small plastic pool net and tried retrieving what I could from the black, misty, dirt water hole, but they were destroyed. I grabbed an Irwin Chiaotzu, missing his robe and accessories, scratched to high-hell. Jakks Tien flowed on by with countless others missing limbs and heads. All of them, just destroyed. I only recovered a handful, but managed to get my Saiyan Saga Yamcha custom but it didn't even look like Yamcha. The hair was gone and the orange paint turned gray. Everything in my dream suddenly turned black and white and I just sat there and cried . Hey, it was just terrible. I then woke up and was so relieved to be in my own bed. My family was okay and my collection safe. Never before, have I had a deeper appreciation for the hard work I've put into it. Might seem like a stupid story or dream, but to me, it makes me concerned.
Why? Well, I took a deep breath when I woke up because I was shocked to have had yet, another nightmare about my worst fear, tornadoes....to date, I have had about 100+ dreams and nightmares in my life about tornadoes, but still haven't seen one in live action. I live in Florida which is surprising, because we do get them pretty often with bad storms, but none that I have seen. The endless amount of dreams about tornadoes that I've had since I was as young as 6-7 have made them my greatest fear. Sometimes, it's almost like I feel as though I'll never see one because I'll just see it in a dream instead. I feel like I have so much experience with them now because of this. Yet, if I ever do see one for real, I don't know how I'll react because well, I feel like it will come right for me. Just like my nightmare. What is your greatest fear?
