Everytime a new scultures Budokai tournament is announced it's an event of such mixed emotions. I'm typically split between an overwhelming sense of irritation and just being flat out overjoyed.
The bad in this new announcement....
Another DX sized super saiyan Goku.... Yay. Way to waste a slot, Banpresto.
Another future Trunks... Swinging his sword? Pretty sure we already have a DX sized figure of him doing this. Pretty sure your parent company, Bandai, is releasing ANOTHER figure... extremly close to this in the Figuarts zero line. Yet another wasted slot.
Bulma in her motocross gear.... Already been done in around this scale in the pichi pichi gals DX line. Pretty much the only difference is the positioning of her arm. Waste.
Porunga? Really? Please stop doing massive characters in such small scale. It just doesn't work in my eyes.
Launch I'm on the fence about... I suppose it's cool they're doing her "nice" side after doing her blond bad ass version last year.
I'm extremely disappointed they didn't include Android 17 or 19 in this line up, as they've already put out amazing sculpts for 16,18, and 20. Make all 5 androids BP, that'd be pretty damned cool. Make a Tien, A king piccolo, a kid Buu. Give us stuff we haven't seen yet in DX format.
The good in this lineup though is VERY good. Pan is a unique choice, I'd have preferred her end of z look, but Im still excited as this will be the largest scale representation of Pan ever.
Arale is cool. No problems there as she's another unique choice for the line. The episodes of DB she appeared in are great.
The Yamcha.... The absolute highlight of this entire new set. Not only does his sculpt look absolutely amazing, but this is his first time getting a larger scale statue figure. Beyond excited for that figure.
All in all I'm going to buy every single one of them, but they really need to kill it with the character repetition. How many versions of the same characters, in the same poses does one really need in their collection? I feel they look at it as "well these are the characters that people want" , they need to look at it as "well what characters haven't we done yet".

:willy:I am literally going CRAZY over the Yamcha figure!  I like the Lunch! The Bulma is a bit repetitive as I'd prefer her in her pink mini-dress from the first episode of DB. This will be the 3rd or 4th large Bulma made in this military outfit and pose. Porunga might scale well with HG or Soul of Hyper Figuaration! Kind of interested. The rest I am kind of "meh!" about. By the way, they don't have the 4th set this topic is concerned with on their website yet, but this is the official Japanese site for these figures. Good luck finding the link via Google, I had to go through my favorites to locate it! bfc.bpnavi.jp/z-tenkaichi2/Just like previous years, you will get to vote on who is coolest and they do it round by round. Yamcha is paired up against Trunks for example. The first image I posted above shows who vs. who. |

Where did my post go? lol The sculpts look GREAT, but the selections SUCK. Launch is the best of them because she's different and that's all, which is sad. SSTrunks, a copy of the Figuarts Zero, Boring. Arale, slightly cool, BUT I have no use for a big Arale. Bulma, in that outfit....again....If labs anyone? SSGoku....gee, it's only the 15,634,721st one ever made. Porunga...how many Porunga's are out there now that look the same? Plenty. Add one more. Yamcha! Cool!  Not the outfit he should be wearing. Pan.....Pan......Pan.....GT.... yeah. |

This set has a much better selection than the last set. The if labs Bulma unfortunately is the worst if labs db figure. Her face is unattractive and too large, and her boobs are enormous. There is a pichi pichi Bulma similar to this one and I think one or two more.

The official twitter for Scultures said that the artists were currently coloring their works. I can't wait to see more pics!

I guess they don't realize the money they could make from a big Hirudegarn, King Yemma, Dr. Wheelo, Metal Cooler, Super Android 13, Buff Kai Buu, Chilled, Recoome, Saibamen, and Princess Snake.
