As some of you might've already noticed. Sadly, I've been a bit quiet as of late. This is mostly due to the fact that I've been otherwise preoccupied, collating evidence in order to disprove a rather laughable ebay scammer. Basically, what happen was this: recently I attempted to sell a rare 2011 SDCC Super Saiyan Goku figuarts. A seemingly simple enough task. By the auction's end I was even relatively pleased with the result. Unfortunately, the winning bidder of that auction then lied, claiming that the figure was received damaged, wrongly asserted it was non-genuine and demanding I accept a return in exchange for a full refund. Only to keep both my figure and money, returning an entirely different Goku figuarts. Can't say I didn't see that one coming! Presently, I am left without my item and have inherited a considerable negative paypal balance. Owing to a frustrating fraudulent credit-card chargeback. The issue is still ongoing. However, I do suspect this ordeal will be resolved shortly and hopefully will rule in my favor. I thought I'd share my experience with all of you here, so you, too, might share a laugh at my expense! Perhaps, my experience might even serve as a cautionary lesson to fellow collectors hoping to sell rare collectibles online. Always be vigilant. Keep receipts and it doesn't hurt to document you doing the right thing! Ouch, sorry to hear(read) that man. Fortunately for me, I have no interest in acquiring the coveted 2011 SS Goku since the figure itself is outdated, people can basically recreate it themselves if they know which figuarts to swap. It’s the box that’s valuable arguably more than the figure itself
I been using ebay for years, since the early 2000’s and I don’t think anybody that’s been a member doesn’t have their own story of dealing with shady buyers. The fact that he wanted you to sell it as a “gift” instead of “goods & services” is a huge red flag, good thing you declined. Selling an item as a gift should only be used if you know the person, not strangers

Please tell me you'll be able to get your money back, man. Not only did that douche deliberately break the figure, but he then sent the wrong one to swindle you, keep the broken one, and then demands a chargeback. To add, I've never, in my near-seven years of collecting this line, seen a custom/bootleg 2011 Goku that looks even close to what's pictured. That's a real 2011 that he broke in an effort to get him for free, whilst scamming you out of the figure. To demonstrate, here's a picture of my 2011 Goku (which I can confirm is legit.) My Goku: Here's yours, @supremekai: And the scammer's supposedly "fake" Goku: I hate sharing oxygen with scumbags like that. Let us know what happens going forward, man!

He definitely received my 100% genuine figure, alright. No doubt about it. What I can't believe is that he somehow managed to removed that teensy little metal dowel pin that allows the toe piece to actuate - for sole the purpose of scamming me! That's pretty courageous stuff.
In all honestly, I have a hard time imagining a scenario in which they wouldn't reimburse me. Although, I am frequently surprised in life. There's literally no plausible defense for any of the things he's done or claims.
Hopefully I get paid back and I can pick up a Raditz sooner than later.

That's pretty courageous stuff. That’s because it probably wasn’t his first time doing that

SupremeKai Make sure to put the buyer's name here: dragonballfigures.com/thread/112/list-bad-ebay-sellers-buyers I got scammed out of a Figuarts Scouter Vegeta 1.0 a couple of years ago thanks to ebay. I'm still bitter and furious. My story is somewhere in that thread... The SOB's account no longer exists, but ebay certainly didn't help return the money to me rightfully.

That sucks bro. I hope you get your money!
The sad part is that the marketplaces always tend to "protect" the buyer, even when they are wrong.
What I always do before selling figures on "Mercado Livre" and "Shopee", is to film the figure, film the package, showing that everything is ok.
If he tries to be a douche, I at least have some evidences.

I filmed myself when wrapping, packing and posting the item and also provided a copy of the postage receipt. I also have great footage of me receiving the supposed returned item at the post office and opening it up in one uninterrupted video. Considering the buyer previously demonstrated having received the actual listed item, it is impossible for him to argue never receiving the item or falsely claim I sent an incorrect item. Now I would think this amounts to irrefutable proof of mail fraud, but common sense almost never prevails in these types of dealings. Currently, I have been awaiting a response to my counter claim for a few days and it is still goes unanswered. It'll be interesting to see what the verdict is.

Basically, I've been spamming them non-stop via their automated messaging service. Today I got some kind of vague acknowledgement stating that my complaint had been logged and referred to the appropriate department. That's something I suppose.
It looks like he previously perpetrated a similar scam to the whopping tune of 13 quid! And it seems the buyer has either deleted his eBay account or has since had it restricted, as he now appears as being an unregistered user. Not sure what's holding up my claim dispute. If there's enough proof of fraudulent behaviour to warrant de-registering a bidder's account, surely there's enough evidence to demonstrate that I have been the victim of fraud and rightfully they should reimburse me my money?

I got absolutely nowhere with Ebay. I talked to 2 or 3 people at Ebay when my issue happened with that Julian jerk. It's made me hesitant to sell anything else expensive on ebay ever again.

Yeah. I'm starting to have a genuine disquieting feeling that despite all of my efforts and every precaution taken to indisputably prove I am in the right - this is still not going to go my way. Purely, because the people dealing with the handling the resolution are either too ignorant to recognize the deceit or don't care to inquire any further into it beyond reading the initial nonsensical complaint claim lodged by the scammer. Supposedly, they will be returning a verdict within the next three days. It'll be interesting to see which direction this goes. Yay!
