The faces on this Tien are fantastic. And the fact that Chaozu scales with him is incredible. If kid Gohan and other small characters were made this size, I would have purchased them. I don't know if this is a surprise to anyone, but I've pretty much stopped collecting Figuarts the last couple of years. It's true that their most recent announcements and releases are the best looking they've ever made, but for me, it's just not fun anymore. I don't like the time limited pre-ordering from P-Bandai at all, and being married now, I have things I'd rather use the money for than buying very expensive figures. This Chaozu being so excellent looking and the faces on Tien being so much better than the original release that I do own makes me want to buy the new one, but I know I won't. A few years ago I thought I'd just finish off the Saiyan Saga and maybe some Namek Saga stuff since those are my favorite sagas. But I hate the huge kid Gohan... I really wanted a Piccolo 2.0, but the faces just don't seem right to me so I never bought him... I haven't figured out a smaller Saiyan Saga Vegeta option from another figure line, and I don't like how large Figuarts made 1.0 and 2.0... and I never pre-ordered Raditz. For Namek Saga, I thought I'd be thrilled with the Ginyu Force, but I ended up with mixed emotions. I never ordered any of them. Ginyu and Recoome look great. Burter seems good. Jeice seems a bit short legged. Guldo is barely articulated and made too large. It's just disappointing. Why are they offering us a great articulated Chaozu that scales with larger/average size figures, but all the other recent small characters like Kid Gohan, Guldo, etc. are so large? I just don't get the satisfaction out of purchasing these like I do out of purchasing cheaper, fairly good figures that scale with my main collection (like DragonBall Evolve and Dragon Stars). At this point, I'm part of the minority (5 inch scale collectors) after around 10 years of really good Figuarts releases, so I certainly don't speak for most people, but it's just kind of... for me. I've said a variation of this over and over for many years, but it bothers me that the scale is so inconsistent. The figures are all priced differently, so it's not like they have to make the figures seem like the same value as other characters like Irwin and Jakks did. I can forgive a $6 Irwin Krillin being so large compared to Goku, because I get it... he was the same price as other figures in the line. But why does a 2020 Figuarts Kid Gohan have to be massive... while a 2021 Chaozu is tiny, just as he should be? They should have made a tiny Gohan to go with Piccolo 2.0. I would have bought it and not complained. I'm very off topic here...

My dream figure<3 I've waited for this day for so long. That Chiaotzu looks incredible! I can't wait. Now I hope they release a set like this with their Super outfits. I don't personally agree with the Kid Gohan sizing criticism. He could be a tad smaller, but he's pretty close in size to the lineup intro and has a full head over Chiaotzu. The video has the lineup recreated. I do completely agree about the Vegeta sizing, though. Hopefully the 2.0 Krillin is shorter as well. DEY TOO BIG.

I used to buy figures before the pandemic for 250, 280 Reais. Now they're being sold for 600, 700 Reais. Minimum wage in Brazil is about 1050 Reais. It's just not worthy.

jj For Android Saga, other than the giant head, that Gohan body is a fine size, but he's only a 4 or 5 year old tiny kid in Saiyan Saga. That body isn't supposed to be Android Saga though. Krillin 2.0 needs to be smaller too, I agree. This is my favorite group image of all, even though it does have some size inconsistencies. This last one is modern fanart by the guy who did the official "Reincarnated as Yamcha" book, Dragon Garowlee. He's pretty darn consistent in what he does though. I probably should have taken my complaint to a different thread, so I took this pretty far off topic. To summarize: I'm thrilled Chaozu is going to scale with the other figures (FINALLY!), but I kind of don't care anymore for my collection, because I've decided Figuarts aren't really a good fit for what I enjoy collecting. They cost too much and I really don't like extra heads and pieces to keep up with. In my opinion... they had every opportunity to give us the ultimate DBZ figures by sizing them properly starting 10+ years ago, and they could have gotten me hooked on collecting them with enthusiasm back then if they did that. It's great that they've either started listening to the fans or realized a giant Chaozu with a head the size of a beach ball would look ridiculous next to Tien in people's collections... but for me, it just bothers me that their recent kid Gohan is so huge. This stuff is all designed on computers. It's frustrating. I just don't understand why it isn't all perfectly scaled like Tamashii's Figuarts Sailor Moon line and some of their other properties...

Here's a comparison I made with a pic of the old Tien and the new ones. As well as the standing pic that isn't circulating on Facebook very much for some reason.

Thanks for linking me to this Gokubr! I couldn't find it in a search for some odd reason. I was in a hurry, so maybe that's why. I wanted to post these great comparison pics by treeglayleung from instagram
