Now that I've switched over to Apoxie Clay for larger sculpted-from-scratch pieces, I shouldn't have the problems that Apoxie Sculpt has when you trying to basically "frost a cake" while refining the surface of Sculpt. Sculpt is really better suited for smaller mods and for use as filler. That's why the one on the left has a more smooth texture and why the one of the right has some ripples. I wasn't able to get my sanding tool under the large bang on the one on the right and some other spots, so it remained a little textured. I also spent more time on the hair for Brown's and didn't use any reference pics when sculpting his. I just sculpted it how I thought would compliment the existing hair.

Knowing now that you sculpted the hair without any reference pics on Brown's figure I am twice as amazed how awesome it came out.

I usually make more interesting stuff when I don't use a reference pic, but then I usually end up and having to go back and fix stuff.

Awesome job Bran, I prefer yours still since it's lean and I prefer the face on the other but man I'd be lucky getting either lol. Great job on getting the blue/skin colors! How long does that process take? Do you make any errors like making it too blue or something, and if that happens can ya fix it? I'm pretty sure it's possible but confirmation would be nice lol.

Pretty much yeah, sounds like common sense but eh just how I am. Plus might end up painting something in a bit.

I don't like to time myself, because then it feels like work instead of fun/hobby. I always do at minimum 3 coats of paint and then a detail layer. Sometimes I have to do up to 8 coats of paint and then several detail layers if the color doesn't cover well.
In the case of these two blue wrist bands, the blue covers well, so I did three layers of a regular blue you can see in earlier pics in my WIP topic. I suppose they took around 10 minutes per coat, not including drying time, which is usually around 5 to 15 minutes per layer. After that I mixed some blue and navy blue and got a color similar to the boots. I did a layer of that making sure to get all of the edges. Long drying time since I watered the paint down.... Did a layer of a light blue as a watered down layer and textured it with a napkin. Let that dry partially before... noticing it didn't match very well, and the Jakks paint marks were more teal, so I mixed some turquoise with the blue and dry brushed/dusted the wrist bands with a larger than usual brush to get it dusty looking. Then I waited several hours and put a layer of Model Masters Flat Clear Acryl on top. I normally wait until the next day to do clear, especially with blue, green, and black colors since they have tons of pigment that will bleed into the clear (on the brush and back into the clear paint bottle via the brush), but I was impatient and did it after about 2 hours and it worked out fine without contaminating my clear paint too much.
As for messing up, I mess up colors constantly. Half the time I will put a base coat of a color that isn't even all that close to what I'll use just because I want to make sure I cover up the previous layer completely.

He looks really good and accurate! Perfect size too. My only complaint is that he looks like he was playing in the dirt before getting killed lol Especially on his head. But overall, I'd want it. I give 9.2/10

He mostly looks like that because my clear is so diluted with water. He's not as shiny and he's missing the milkyness that Dende has. I'm trying to use the old stuff up before I start using the bottle that I bought for Brown's Figuarts Gohan head and SSG. He does have a little bit more green detailing than Dende, but oh well. Nobody else wants to comment? Gee

Might as well use it on the less important customs. DBF has been dead. I posted Future Gohan and took him down before anyone else saw lol

Agreed on the clear not being quite right but other than that it is awesome Bran. He looks perfect standing with Dende. Love the pic with Dodoria Adrenaline why did you take Future Gohan back down? Was it the finished product or the one with the moustache? Also the site has been a little slow but I am trying my best to perk it up lol
