Possibly! Or that Nappa could be the one that has hair in my Pre-Dragonball set. Make the family? Yeah, but not from scratch. I am considering making myself.

You should be a toy repairman or something of the sort. Or be a toy restorer. Charge a bundle of money of course so you get your profit.

That's the sad part. For the time it takes, no one would spend the money I'd have to charge to even make decent money. For example, no one would spend over $300-400 for that Yemma I bet, but if I wanted to make $10 an hour for the time he took to make, I'd have to at least ask for $750.
If I could make $20 an hour for customizing and the demand was abundant enough to have 40 hours a week of work, I'd quit my job today.

I'd give you $300 for Yemma if I was making $50k a year lol, put me down on the waiting list... He's worth about $2,250 based on the hours though. Not that you'd ever get that. Which is why... customizing toys isn't a good career.

Idk Gil seems to be making pretty decent $ off of his figuarts customs but u have to remember what it cost to buy just the figure unless he's getting his clients to supply the figures. Granted it's still not enough $ to not have a real job unless Ur standards of living r really poor.

I think it all depends on the right buyer. Some people might value your custom for low price and there is some that are willin to pay that $$$. Good customizers like loosecollector, anthonycustoms, and Acc (forgot his name) they are the one that makes good $$. I remember before Acc made a custom of Damian robin and it was going for $2k people were bidding crazy. I read Anthony's customer review and he has a ton of reviews from his customer. Also we have loosecollector in my opinion the best action figure customizers out there. I remembered he sold his marvel legends customs from $150 to $600 per figure. As for me I would atleast want to triple my money that I spend for custom figure. I sold 2 of my ss4 goku for $350 each figure I spent about $100 including fees, shipping and materials. $250 profit per figure, which I think is pretty decent profit. I try not to over price at the same time I don't want to lower the price on my customs. If I feel like my custom didn't came out good, even if I spent lots of hours with it I can't sell it high. I would still want a little profit but I couldn't sell for triple the money I spent . If you are willing to sell your custom, you should post it on eBay and set a price range you would want for him. See how many people will get interested with it. I think you did a pretty good job on him.

I'm not sure you guys are completely understanding. Making good money and making the 'right' money are two entirely different things. I can make good money on any custom because $300 extra is nice to have. But it all depends on the hours you spend on the custom. After all, time is money in the real world. At least for hourly employees. If I make $15 an hour, I get $120 for a full 8 hr work day. If I only work 4 hrs, I only make $60.
These other customizers that are getting big offers for their figuarts, it only works out as major income if they're not spending much time to customize them. For example, getting a $2k offer is awesome, but if the custom took me 100 hours, it's not that great an offer. That computes to $20 an hour. Of course, time is money even more so for those of us with families and bills to pay. A teen making this stuff, living off mom and dad could probably make pretty decent money lol and then there's the whole enjoyment factor and the time they don't mind spending. Basically, a custom is either worth what someone is willing to pay or how much the customizer prefers to make an hour. If I want a lousy $4 an hour, I'd sell Yemma to Bran for $300, but in my eyes, my Yemma is worth a good $2,000 at least. I seriously wouldn't sell it under that but no one would pay that either. It equivalates to close to $25 an hour which is good money, but not even great. See?
The plus side for Figuarts customizers is that they're already high-selling figures. Turning a $120 Figuarts Goku into a $700 dollar someone else is...well...easy, but it's only good money if it took under 25 hours, which would be close to $28 an hour for work minus the money spent for the parts, so it's not that great. Using Irwin and Jakks parts is cheaper depending on the figures used, but the demand for those 5 inch types isnt high, so it doesn't work out as great income either.
Lastly, gil, what do you mean 'good customizers' like so and so.....lol are you saying they're better? Haha. I kid.
Oh, also, Yemma isn't for sale. Not by any stretch of the mind. I was just giving examples. I should put him on ebay with a ridiculous reserve price though, just to see how low someone is willing to pay.

Its not just the time that plays into it either. That is also mixed with the amount of money you spend on materials. If you were to make all your customs on apoxy clay then how much are you going to be spending on that alone? You have to spend a little money (and a lot of time) to make money.

I would say I used 2/3 of my 1 lb apoxie cases on Yemma. Since there are two cases, that's 1.3333 lbs of apoxie on Yemma. Considering that case of apoxie cost me $19, and I used 1.333 out of 2 lbs.....that would be about $6.33 worth of apoxie used on him. The Hulk figure underneath cost $9.99 and the DWC Ox King for the head was $2....so now we're at $18.32. Add in a dollar worth of tape, paper towels, and newspaper, that makes $19.32 and then paint and brushes would literally equal nothing. Let's just say the remaining 0.68 cents, so Yemma cost me $20 to make and took me 75 hours. That's why he's worth over $2k....the 75 hours, which like $26 per hour of work.

Future Trunks in Armor (w/Pony Tail-Cell Saga)Date: June 2014 Creation Time: 10 Hours Difficulty: 3/10Head: Bandai SBC SSTrunks (used to be the head Branjita used for his first Yamcha custom) Body: Irwin Long Haired Trunks Modifications: Sculpted the front hair, side bangs, and strands. I can sculpt well, but sculpting his hair was difficult. I know what Iam2 meant when he made his long haired Figuarts Trunks. Anyway, I also repainted the outfit, minus the white of the armor, gloves and boots. Face got a completely new paint job. Fat Majin Buu (Buu Saga)Date: June 2014 Creation Time: 30 minutes Difficulty: 1/10Head/Body: Scultures Majin Buu Cape: Irwin Majin Buu Modifications: Here's the deal. I bought a Scultures Majin Buu and wanted to display him in my Buu Saga section with this head specifically because he looks evil. Apparently, they made this head slanted? Or did I have a defective Buu? Anyway, it literally did not fit all the way on the cape neck insert (not a peg) and when I got it, the slanted, turned head looked dumb. Then when I stood him up, he didn't stand because the cape was too heavy, so he kept falling backward ugh. He was made to use the large Dabura Cookie as a stand...even dumber. So I said the hell with it. I had a loose, extra Irwin cape, glued it on and carved down the slanted neck on the head and made it fit nice and snug, reinforced with some glue. Viola! I really like this cape better! And he stands too. The Scultures cape is not only back-heavy, but it was shaded terribly, with uneven and unequal blotches of dark silver spray brush paint. Plus the fact it extends like 5 inches outward really wastes space on my shrinking shelf space. If anyone wants it, I am willing to sell it.....would be good for a Figuarts Zarbon cape (Branjita's idea). So now, this is my Buu Saga Buu since it was the only saga in which he was evil in part of and the head accommodates that. For my 28th World Tournament/End of Z Buu, I have the happy Irwin one (only have one for this saga because he was a tournament competitor) and then for my GT Majin Buu or Mr.Buu I should say, he is posted below this one. There is no Pre-DB Buu because I'll be making South Kai Buu to represent him instead. Mr.Buu (Baby Saga GT)Date: June 2014 Creation Time: 5 Minutes Difficulty: 0.2/10Head: Scultures Majin Buu Extra Head Body: Bandai SBC Majin Buu Modifications: Since I have the happy Irwin Buu in my 28th Tourney section, I wanted a different head on my GT one. Luckily, the Scultures Buu came with two extra heads (a happy one that I'll be putting aside for Masokatsun or Buyon and another head that had an open mouth and came with three insertable mouth pieces; an open mouth, a teeth smile, and a tongue) I thought the tongue was funny and since we see him each so much crap throughout the series, I thought it was the best choice to replace the rather boring SBC happy face. I could always swap it with one of the other mouth pieces if I don't like it after time. The point is, the three Buus I have all have different facial expressions. Mission accomplished.

lol how funny, I didn't know you used my old Yamcha head, which was the SBC USS Trunks figure's head! Everything on him looks nice, the hair looks good, it's a little thick, but only slightly. Very good sculpt. You should redo the eyes on the regular Irwin figure, the pupils are really big. The mean Fat Buu looks nice. I like the tongue face lol.

That Trunks/Yamcha/Trunks head has been through a lot in the years and now, it'll live on.
Maybe I'll fix the Irwin Trunks eyes later.
