I was unboxing more of the figures I received and my Nappa was very sticky so I decided to give it a wipe down with a wet wipe. DO NOT USE WET WIPES. It actually took off the gold outer coat of paint so now my Nappa is silver. My Raditz was also a bit sticky but he will have to stay that way.

Soap and water my friend! Wet wipes are for messy old buttocks, not figurines.

Now I know. Thankfully I worked it out before stuffing more of them up. After checking it was only Nappa and Raditz that had any real stickiness to them. I actually think the paint on Nappa would have come off even with just soap and water because the paint was coming off onto my fingers. Guess I just have to rebuy Nappa now

Most wet wipes contain rubbing alcohol, don't they? Yeah, definitively not something you should use on paint, as it is one of the most common methods of removing it.

Well ordered another Nappa. You know I used wet wipes to clean those Megahouse figures too. I am a total idiot. Seriously. A complete idiot.

LOL don't worry, it was an honest mistake. Wipes are still fine for unpainted plastic and sometimes can be used on more durable paints and decals. I wouldn't risk it if you just want to clean a figure, though. Soap and water all the way!

Don't be to hard on yourself @aussiedcfan it's a mistake I may have made, but I learn from your experience. Thanks for the heads up!

if the paint is shiny, no wet wipes. if its dull (and the toy was intended to be played with) then wet wipes should be fine

Got my replacement Nappa and it is nowhere near as gold as the package shows and this was fresh from the sealed packaging. It was also very sticky too. Must just be the way the figure is.

throw it in water and scrub The stickiness isn't bothering me...it is nowhere near as sticky as the other Nappa and I don't want to risk losing what little gold it has.

Bit the bullet and gave the figure a wipe over with a wet tissue and a little soap and no paint loss and no longer sticky. Guess it was a case of once bitten twice shy with me not wanting to mess with it.
