From February 5th til March 1st (25 days) I seriously averaged 5 hours per day on him. Probably 5-10 of those hrs were just on thinking and coming up with the best base. Some days, I did 1 hr of work. Others, 8 or 9. I was on a roll once I managed to get started. Sad, Wheelo was like my 2nd child for a few weeks lol ...still might be  |

Main thing I like about this...when Bran found that tidbit about Dr. Wheelo coming out as a Movie Collection figure in 2001 it really bugged me since it was never going to be seen...but this thing is right up there with the Movie Collection figures. Matter of fact I don't really see how that thing is standing on it's own. I don't even want to think about all the work you did on this.

The custom figure? I'd value it at least $800 to $1000. That's a hell of a lot of work. In the perfect world, a month of work like that would be $4000 lol Well, I perfectly know the work that is behind... but I'm talking about a realistic price that a person would spend on it. In my opinion. I sold my ss3 broly custom for 130 euro time ago, so in that sense maybe that wheelo would rise up to 450$... but nobody would pay 1000$ for it in my opinion (unless they won the lottery) |

This is amazing! Got any ideas for the bio warriors yet?
And I think this could easily sell for $1000. A few weeks back a Mexican omega shenron I was watching on eBay sold for $700. It was a different sculpt than the one that usually shows up so it might have been the only one but this is for sure the only Wheelo.

Estimating the worth of this figure at $230 is insulting to me. 125 hours is no joke. Not tooting my own horn, but Jakks Omega and Jakks Bardock which were once $300 figures pale in comparison to this. Whenever I make customs for profit, I have to make at least $10/hr. That's not a lot, but it's not like I'm making nothing either. So based on that, Wheelo would be worth around $1200, though is worth a lot more to me. Anything can be worth what one person would be willing to spend. $1000 is yeah, a lot of money, but to some, not much at all, especially hard core collectors. Put in the fact it's Dr.Wheelo, yeah, I'd say someone would buy it for that price...doesn't mean that I'll sell it though lol Some limited edition Oozarus, specifically ones that caps owns are worth $1000+ easily and I'd say Wheelo is definitely right up there with them, even worth more. Some factors you have to consider are "could I make another?" I think I could...but then I have to ask myself "Am I willing to put that kind of effort into it?" and that I am not sure about, because I was like a man on a mission with this one. Considering the ongoing knowledge that a 'Wheelo figure doesn't exist' and how much anyone would love to have one or even see one, it drove me to make him as best as I possibly could. Now that one does exist, it would be difficult to replicate, though I could possibly improve it too. I feel like I'll never make a custom this good ever again lol perhaps I have peaked. If I do, it'll have to be of a character with somewhat the same impact like a big Final Form Hirudegarn. That's the only one I can think of that would truly require an equal amount of work. poposbrother: Bio Warriors from the Bio-Broly movie or Bio-men from the World's Strongest? I already made one using a Real Works Saibaman a few years ago. Should probably make a few of them. |
