@aussiedcfan. Well, I only have one detolf and I keep my Hot Toys in there, but of course, any figures could get dusty in them. They're not airtight or anywhere close to it. There are gaps about a centimetre thick on either side of the door. I think there may be gaps on the back, too.

I have lost all faith in humanity now...j/k lol

I'd still recommend them... You can't beat them, for the price!

I'd still recommend them... You can't beat them, for the price! It would still be better than just having your figures in a bookcase

Oddly my figures in my armoire are virtually dust free two years later... Don't know why, and it even doesn't shut fully and is by a window I open sometimes.
My DB collection show a bit of dust, but not as much as you'd think for being completely exposed.
You know, the best way to prevent dust is by having good furnace filters and changing them when you are supposed to. I use MERV 13 filters that I change every 3 months. Using those high quality filters cuts down on dust like you wouldn't believe. The only stuff that gets dusty is electronic and I think the static electricity draws the dust in to my tv, computer, etc.

@aussiedcfan, Idk, I have a bookcase with glass doors that's pretty nice. But it's definitively a great option. I don't think I'd ever put my DBZ figures in one... But it works great for 1/6 scale stuff and I'm sure it'd work great for statues.

All I have for display at the moment are open bookcases and cabinets. You would not believe the amount of dust that gathers here. It drives me bonkers lol

A New Figure: Don't touch it jk....simple dusting. A used figure: water, dish soap, even magic eraser..... Branjita doesn't know why his AB Fat Janemba looks mint, it's because of that last reason A custom figure: I have tons of customs and figures with paint. Even inside a closed armoire, dust accumulates and will even stick to a custom that has been displayed for a while. In this case, use WET WIPES. Yes, wet wipes work fine, even on customs. I use them to wipe dust off and the paint and clear matte finish stays! Dry cloths don't work on painted customs because the dust is partially stuck on and you need moisture to get it off. If you don't believe me as far as using wet wipes as a good tool, then you just have to be smart in which ones you are using. I use these and have had NO problems. Target brand baby wipes, cheap and effective. ALCOHOL-FREE. Just a wet wipe literally. You can actually use one of these two. I have never used anything else. They work on any figure. Trust me.

I'd still recommend them... You can't beat them, for the price! Detolf from IKEA are the best in that sense, but yesterday I managed to get a horizontal KLINGSBO, which is great especially when I paid it it just 79 euro (discounted, full price 139 euro)...

Magic Eraser really do do a great job cleaning up old figures. I found a way to kinda make a Detolf dust proof. Just run some foam weather strip down the sides of the glass behind the door so when you shut the door it will rest on the foam.
