Hey, does anyone know what the deal with the two different color schemes for cooler? Is it like manga Gohan vs. anime Gohan with the different belt color? I know Cooler has appeared in multiple movies but I'm not sure if the different color shcemes are from different appearences. If anyone could enlighten me that would help. I am trying to decide if I want one set, the other, or both.  |

I don't think that the different figures are supposed to represent different appearances of Cooler, I think it is just a matter of changing the color to re-release the figure to help fill a series' line-up. To me, the top row is closer to what I think of Cooler looking like, with the top left, HG 11 Cooler, being the closest in color to his appearance in 'Cooler's Revenge'. If you want a matching set, I'd go with the bottom two from the SP Movie and EX series. If you want a set that is closer to the depiction in the films, I'd go with the top two, but know that their purples don't match as closely as the bottom two do.

I believe his colors change throughout the movie dependent on how the lighting is or something. I actually prefer the colors on the top left one since they look like a compromise between the purple and the magenta.

I was originally under the impression that the pair on top were the same purple, it is good to know their colors don't match closely. However, this creates a dilemma. I wanted the ones on top because they are closer to how I remember cooler looking and I think I can get them for a lower price than the bottom two, but the color thing is an issue for me. Also, I like the magenta color scheme, I just didn't feel it was true to form, but it looks great.
I guess I have some soul searching to do!

Attachment DeletedThese are the two figures from the top row. I color corrected the image to the what the shades of purple actually look like. I don't have the two figures in the bottom row. Thinking about it, the two in the bottom row look like they might be a similar shade of purple as the HG 21 Sauzer (I don't know about the HG EX Sauzer). Maybe Bandai made those two Cooler figures that shade to match the members of his squad?

The purple Coolers don't match at all, one is purple and the other is like blue. The pink Cooler is taken from the original artwork by Akira Toriyama. Then the animation studio decided to change the color from pink to purple.

This is his artwork. Next to it is artwork from the remake of the Hatchiyak movie.   The 4th form is magenta, the 5th is purple. I don't personally believe Akira designed the 5th form to be gigantic, but I'm glad the animators made him tall, because he looks so stupid with that huge head and regular size body in this artwork.  Dumb looking when small like this.  |

Cool artwork! It seems like Cooler was drawn in all of those color schemes at one point or another. It seems like the only thing to do is get them all!!! lol But the pink ones first  |
