Here's the custom WIP of Vados I mentioned in the other thread! If anyone is wondering, Nappa is still in progress, I actually now have plans to finish him and some older customs.

Thanks y'all! I'm really excited to finish her up. I'm waiting on a part that should come in soon to finish her. In the meantime I have repaint I'm working that I should finish tomorrow. Branjita, I have a question about applying clear coat. I have Model Masters Flat Clear Acryl. Do you thin it out before applying? Also do you just brush it on or airbrush it?

From Spiderman Homecoming to Dakota doing customs again, today was a good day! Got a Champa to go with her, or is that your next project?

Haha, how was Spider-Man? I saw Wonder Woman tonight and it was fantastic!
I don't currently have a Champa, but I have plans after I get some stuff! Right now I'm trying to focus on finishing up some of my previous works with some paint.

I have a question about applying clear coat. I have Model Masters Flat Clear Acryl. Do you thin it out before applying? Also do you just brush it on or airbrush it? I use the back end of a brush (the wood part) and stir that, wipe the end off on a napkin thoroughly, and then I put the lid back on tight and shake it a while. The gooey stuff tends to settle on the bottom. You should always make sure and stir it as the directions say to. I then wet my brush with clean water and then quickly brush it on. If you need a very careful, thin coat, you can put some of it on your plastic plate you put your paint on, then add a tiny drop of water, and then brush it on. The important thing with it is that you have two problems to avoid. You have to avoid letting it get too thick or it will dry milky looking. And it is self-leveling, so you should just focus on working quickly. Don't worry about brush strokes. And you don't want to use too much, because in your attempts to wipe the excess off, you're definitely going to mess up your paintwork. You don't want to refine your strokes, or you risk the gooey component sticking to your brush and pulling paint off. There's almost NEVER a time I use it that it doesn't pull SOME paint off that I end up having to touch up. Overall, it ends up making everything look better, but you can end up taking off part of an eye outline or something similar. Even though it isn't stress free, it doesn't smell bad, you don't have to spray it (which is a major plus), it cleans out of your brushes with soap and water, and it makes the paint VERY durable. No more risk of scratching off like un-cleared Acrylic paint. When putting it on black, it always looks milky. I end up mixing a drop of black with a drop of clear it on my plastic plate and then repainting all the black with the clear mixed in. It makes it just as durable IMO, and you don't end up with milky swirls. To be honest though, I actually do the clear on top of the black, and then after that dries, I repaint everything with the mix of clear and black. It may just be a quirk/habit, but it's the way I do it to make sure I get good coverage.

Master Roshi (DBZ - 25th World Tournament Saga)Roshi Figure: AB Toys Cane: IF Labs Roshi Cane Modifications: All I really did here was repaint Roshi's Clothes to be accurate to the Buu Saga. As for the cane, it was originally much larger, but I cut it down, glued it back together, sanded it smooth, and repainted. Its not perfect, but it beats trying to find the AB cane! Vados (DBS - Champa Saga)
Torso, Arms, Legs, Shoes, Staff, Halo, Sash: Bootleg DXF Whis Figure Sleeves: Irwin Dr. Gero Head: WCF Vados Modifications: Wow, this one was tough for me! The bootleg Whis is much taller, probably meant for a more Figuarts-Scale, but it's definitely the best base for this. I cut her legs down by probably about an inch (don't hold me to that, I didn't really measure haha). Vados wears heels, so I took the Whis shoes off, cut a chunk of them from the middle and reattached the tips of the shoes back. Then I sanded / carved the Whis shoes away so they were completely flat. Then I sculpted the heels, which was a pain for me! The soles of the shoes gave me so many problems, ugh, but overall I think they look pretty nice. I had to remove Whis's decoration thing from the front of the outfit completely. I resculpted the skirt area to be accurate and sculpted the front and back decoration thing from scratch. Whis's torso is completely flat, so I had to completely resculpt her upper body to add breasts and all the little designs and trim. Dr. Gero's sleeves had lines in them that I took my Dremel to and sanded away. The only thing I had to do to the head was drill a tiny hole into the ponytail holder for the halo. Then I repainted everything except the head. I matched the neck color as best as I could, but I knew I did NOT want to repaint the head, considering this was really my first time fully painting a custom. The paint job isn't flawless by any means, but I'm pretty pleased with it, all things considered. Honestly, I'm really glad I actually went for this custom because I was on the verge of just quitting customs completely! I loved sculpting but I didn't see any point if I wasn't going to paint them. But I'm glad I don't feel that way anymore. I'll definitely be taking a break for a few days between things, it probably won't be until next week that I really work on anything. Anyways, yeah, I'm overall very pleased. I also just realized I forgot the little circle designs on the garb, but I'll make some later on with sticker paper. I couldn't wait to post her! Also, wow, I'm sorry for the lower quality images! I really need a good camera, but I am le broke right now, as a normal college student is LOL. Thanks for looking and hope y'all enjoy! **Edit: I've replaced the front view with an updated image with the circle designs.

Finished up another one, y'all! Kid Gohan (Frieza Saga)Head: Chara Puchi Gohan in Armor Body: DWC Saiyan Saga Vegeta Modifications: Not a whole lot! I added some height to the waist and calves for some height to make him a better scale. I also sculpted the boots a little taller over the legs so it wouldn't look awkward haha. Only other thing I did was add that little ring thing between the torso and legs. Then I repainted everything except for the face. His head can move but otherwise there's no articulation. Overall, I'm really happy with him! I've had this basically put together for a few years now, so I'm glad to finally see it finished. Still not a perfect paint job, but I'm happy with it. And with some other Kid Gohans: Thanks for looking!

Your customs are very very nice. Clean and creative work. If there is no figuarts version for Vados in future, there is hope to make one after looking at your custom.
Thanks for uploading.
